The next day they sent out an ELECTRICIAN to assess my needs and requirements. The following day I had a formal written quote. I had a few minor changes so they revised the quote. I told them I had an upcoming surgery scheduled so the timing was critical. I had just gone to Costco and loaded my freezer with over $300 in frozen food and that was going to melt down. The owner of Target Electric offered to let me put my food in his church/community centers freezers. I used my own church's freezers. Who does that? "Originally, I had some concerns...it took over a week to get someone to come out and give an estimate and during that time, Atlas Electric forgot who I was and I had to remind him 2-3 times what I needed done. There was also confusion as Atlas assumes that their customers will use and respond to SMS messages. However, once the electrician came out, it turned out he was quite reasonable, knowledgeable, responsive, and decently priced. And, followup was very fast. Indeed, the job was done perfectly and I don't think any other electrician would have done a better job. The wiring for the new circuit branches were hidden properly....an effort above and beyond my expectations. New outlets were flush and pristine. "We did a total remodel of my husband's family home.   It took over six months.  Our next door neighbor is Andre Johnson who is starting up his own solar panel installation out of his home.  He has been in the business for  years, but felt now was the time for him to start his own business.  After we moved in, we talked to him about solar installation...we got some other bids, but his was still the best.  He and his son did the installation, then we called the city for the inspector to come out.
This is why I am writing this review.  With the total remodel, we had a lot of city inspections, and we knew how particular they are.  The inspector came out, went up on the roof for 10 or 15 minutes.  Then he told Andre he wanted to talk to us.  We thought...this can't be good.  On the contrary....the inspector wanted us to know what an outstanding job they did.  In fact, he said he had never seen such a perfect job.  He had been to two other homes for solar installation inspection prior to ours, and neither one of them passed.  He said they were done by well known, large local companies.  He said the larger companies sub-contract out the work, so you don't get the pride of ownership kind of work that we got.
Andre has five different licenses on his business card.  I did check his CA license....#958114...and he is in good standing with the state of California.  One of the other licenses was his federal contracting license, and another one was with the State of California as a disabled vet.
If you are looking for any kind of solar panel installation, PLEASE call Andre for a bid.  I really don't think you can find a better price, and I know you won't get a better job.

"After getting bids from several other companies, I went with Independent Energy Solutions because they were by far the most professional company. Chris took the time to educate me on solar energy as well as to provide the most sensible design to give me the greatest amount of solar energy production for the available space and layout of my roof. Joseph, the crew foreman, was a delight to work with, and he was very responsive when problems came up. They thought of all the little details to make the installation aesthetically pleasing, like running the cable down along the back of the rain spout to hide it from view and painting it to match the stucco so that it virtually disappeared. Throughout the entire installation process, they went the extra mile, and they treated me as if I were a VIP.
Were there problems during the installation? Yes. The City Building Department lost my application, and then both their inspector and the inspector from SDG&E were annoyingly nitpicky. But IES handled all these problems with grace and elan.
Having my own solar panel system has caused me to look around the neighborhood to see what other solar installation contractors have done and there's all the difference in the world between what they've got and what I've got. I'm so glad I went with Independent Energy Solutions and got the very best.
