He called me back in just a little bit of time with the price to replace it, he put us on his schedule for 8:30 AM. That morning Jim pulled into our driveway at 8:30 ready to get the job done. There were no multiple trips to a supply house for parts or supplies. He was very attentive to our property and made prompt cleanup of spilled water and cleaned up as he went ago. He made fast work of replacing the heater he then removed the old water heater and all materials that he removed to place the new one in. He took a look at my problem and quickly came up with my options for repairing or replacing my faucets. Based on the age of the faucets I elected to have them replaced. "I hired them to replace all of the polybutylene piping in our house. The very young crew, led by a 19 year old, made a lot of mistakes. After they left, I discovered that they failed to connect a faucet in the kitchen sink, reversed hot and cold in the shower, left interior pipes exposed under a slop sink, and unnecessarily cut into and marked a wall searching for pipes that were not there. To their credit they reduced my bill for the unnecessary damage. They were to return the next day to complete the work for the upstairs bath. I canceled this and asked the company to send a more experienced crew. The second crew was also young but much better. They corrected all of the plumbing mistakes from the first crew and even cleaned up the stains on the wall left by a sharpie. At the end of the second day, I thought all was complete. I later discovered that an outside faucet was overlooked. I contacted the company and they quickly dispatched a crew, the 19 year old again, who quickly reattached the spigot. My impression was that they were using younger and less experienced plumbers to hold costs down. That would have been okay if properly supervised by an experienced plumber who would have checked to see that faucets were working properly and that the installation was done in a professional manner. I would use another company in the future."

"After leaving a message on Angie's List on Saturday, Jim Stephens responded within an hour or so. After exchanging information, he volunteered to make a service call the next day Sunday. Because of my 5-day work week, this was a big relief. On Sunday, he called, as agreed, and asked if he could be at my house in a few minutes. As agreed, he arrived promptly. He diagnosed the problems and, at my request, provided details for solution fix. He had the part in his van and explained how the fix would be done and how it would work. He answered questions and explained clearly and thoroughly. Before beginning the work, he gave me an estimate, which I agreed to. After the work, his stated charge was no more than what his estimate had been. In addition to providing a high-quality solution, he provided, at my request, education about a related issue - the exterior drain for the sump pump. He thoroughly explained how the exterior drain could be extended away from the house to mitigate the fact that the water flow was eroding the soil near the foundation. When Jim left, I was a completely happy customer. I knew that 1) it was not necessary to replace the sump pump and 2) I had the knowledge, going forward, to know how to routinely check and maintain the sump pump functionality. Without hesitation, I can honestly say I will be calling JM Stephens for all my plumbing issues in the future."

"I am a senior with a background in construction.  After reviewing many contractors and speaking with some of them, I immediately knew I hit the jackpot when I spoke to Danny.
 
1.  He knew exactly what I needed and wanted done when I first spoke to him.  This entailed the replacement, repair, and installation of the items listed above with attention to quality in materials, prevention of future problems, a fair price, and a commitment to starting and showing up once the job was initiated.  Danny exceeded every expectation in these regards!
2.  I silently knew in advance manufacturers, quality and cost of exterior doors (including the french door), storm doors, door locks and deadbolts, leak-proof door sills for 6 inch exterior walls and a leak-proof barrier on the bottom of the door frames.  Without knowing of my preferences, Danny suggested the identical manufacturers and materials I had in mind.  At this juncture, we met and I hired Danny to perform the work.
3.  I am beyond pleased with the outcome of Danny's effort on this project.  As an example of his integrity, he asked me to trust him in the design and installation of an exterior octagonal window in a bathroom.  My wife and I were literally blown away with a handcrafted symmetrical waterproof tunnel and inside wall frame he created - more akin to an artistic piece than a window.
4. Inside work was always minimally invasive using tarps and soft shoes rather than work boots.  Outside and inside cleanup at the end of each work day was respectfully performed leaving no mess.
I would recommend Danny to anyone requiring any kind of interior or exterior installation, modification, or repair as I have seen firsthand examples of his experience, skills, and personal and business ethics.  In fact, Danny is presently working on costs to replace our roof."

"MJ Home Service saved the day. I  mean night. The outside water faucet cracked and water slowly came back into the houses bring a good deal of mud with it. I called MJ home services around 7 pm and they promptly responded and had a team here within the hour. . They did everything right and more. Melissa explained the process and answered all my questions.  She was very responsive and kept me informed of arrival and how the process would work.. The crew (Brian and Ned) were very processional and kept me informed of every step of the process. They took over the situation and took care of everything needed. They removed  water, mud and all water soaked  items like cardboard boxes . They stacked everything up neatly in one area., cut out damaged drywall, and sprayed to prevent  mold. The set up  fans, so that the basement and rolled up carpeting would dry. They did everything necessary to make sure we were taken care of, even set up our humidifier. Their price was exceptionally reasonable. I have dealt with Servpro, I would have paid twice or more and  had to deal with sales pitches for additional services. I can't imagine how we could ave been taken care of any better. They did everything right. They made a bad night better. I recommend them without reservations.
