"I contacted Kim who handles the office and dispatching. She arranged for a service call. The two gentlemen came, found the problem, replaced the motor unit and left. Works great. Jeff was the one who told me 5 years ago that I didn't need to replace my unit like I was being advised by another HVAC company at a cost of $5,000. At the time, Jeff suggested I repair the leak and get a few more years out of the unit. That was five years ago and it still works great."

"Bathroom sink faucet began leaking (the faucet itself, not the water lines).  This was somewhat of a disappointment, as I bought the faucet myself from Lowe's when I had the bathroom remodeled about five years ago, and it was not a cheap faucet. I first called Caldwell and Sons, a business with which I had done business before, with good results.  They were swamped with calls and had a van down for repairs, and so could not respond as quickly as I would like.   I saw on Angie's List that Ron's Old Time Plumbing was rated highly, so I called that business.  The owner, Ron Rothenstein, responded promptly.  He found that the faucet needed replacing, which I had suspected, and stated that he would have to order one. He did so, and it was delivered to him on Friday, July 31.  He came out Saturday morning, August 1, and installed it.  The faucet was $130, and the rest was labor.  He did not mark up the faucet. He was congenial, affable, and professional. I would use this business again. <br />"

"I called shortly after 9 am on a Saturday morning. Victoria and Terry were very pleasant and explained that their regular plumber was not available but that Terry would come out in about an hour. It ended up being 4:30 pm before he arrived, but it was a Saturday and I understood the difficulties in juggling different commitments that day. I would have preferred a bit more communication and not waiting all day thinking that someone could arrive at any time, but again, I only called that morning, and it was the weekend. <br /> <br /> When Terry arrived he was very professional and friendly and explained why it had taken him so long to arrive. <br /> <br /> He looked at the sink and explained that many houses in my area had kitchens that drained into the yard instead of the septic system and if that was the case he might not be able to clear the pipe just by snaking it, and it could be a big job to replumb. He just wanted us to know before paying for work that might not solve the problem, but he thought it was worth a try. It took him a couple of hours with a couple of different approaches, but he was finally able to get the line cleared and confirm that it is tied into the septic/sewer line.He also took care of another small leak in one of the bathrooms. <br /> <br /> I was very pleased with the work, and was glad to not have had to wait until Monday. The charge seemed very reasonable for a weekend call. <br /> <br /> I have some other non-emergency work that I plan to have done as well."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Prattville, AL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
