"We had another service company, Master Service, come out and perform maintenance and told us the compacitor were bad in both units. One unit was blowing hot air. They were running a scam trying to suck money out of us! I had Airco come out and they found the compacitor and fan wires were crossed and the other unit was two pounds low on refrigerant. Now our home is cool once again. Thank you Airco!!!!! Good job!"

"It didn't work. He couldn't do the job. It was an electric part on a piece of an appliance. It was a switch and it's something they were able to do for. It would have been expensive in addition. They were prompt."

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Purcell, OK

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
