"After many years, portions of outdoor steps & retaining walls at our home [made from treated railroad ties] began to rot. We spoke to several "hardscapers", each of whom quoted us on replacement with either new railroad ties or imitation stone installed over concrete blocks. We opted for the latter &, now that the project is complete, are very pleased with the results. We selected Oscar Padilla's company because he was patient in explaining the pros & cons of the alternatives, had strong Angie's List ratings, and offered an attractive price. After the job was completed, we wanted a few changes & corrections. These were delayed, mostly because of almost constant rain. Oscar stayed in touch with us until the weather improved & the changes could be made."

"We couldn’t be more pleased with the job Cousins did on our new patio. It looks better than we imagined it could. The work crews were extremely hard working and professional. They took great pride in the work they did, didn’t cut any corners and even went above and beyond what we expected. We weren’t sure of exactly what we wanted and Cousins was able to provide great suggestions and options that made the project even better. They were extremely flexible during the project which allowed us to tweak a few things as they were building. The crews did a great job of cleaning the work area after each day. The price they quoted is the price they charged and we felt we got more for our money than the other quotes we received. We had a very hard rain a few days after it was finished and Cousins was out there in the rain making sure the landscaping they had to do was working for good water flow in our yard. There were a few areas that needed to be adjusted and they were out there fixing it a few days later. I did not have to call them. I would certainly hire them again and could not recommend them more highly."

"Jose the owner was professional as was his team. They installed interlocking pavers for my front walk and porch area. Installed the same in the back yard under my deck area for a patio. Would recommend and use again."

"All the people working in this company work together with a high work ethic. They love to exceed people’s expectations. They did an outstanding job in buidling a gable-roof-screened-in porch! It looks great and has a great quality! Highly recommended."

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Pylesville, MD

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
