"The painting subcontractor himself did excellent work. Some of the workers were novices and had to be monitored closely. Half my shutters were mounted upside down and had to be redone and one was broken and the piece tossed in the grass hoping I wouldn't notice. The trim work was horrible and had to be redone. I was stunned that professionals would try to pass that off as finished. My only thought is that they are massively overbooked and rushed the job. That's the way of the world I guess. I am just relieved the experience is over."

"The cleaners did a good job...however, they broke the little button on one shade in the sun room that I hadn't noticed. I wasn't unhappy with the service but one of the workmen, broke a bottom stair. When I questioned Santos, he said one of the men hit the stair with his bucket and to call Mel and he'd have it fixed. I called the next day and was told to send them a picture which I did. Mel called me the next day and said I was lucky his man didn't hurt himself and something about a 5 inch over stair as opposed to a 3 in over hang. Told him the stairs had been in place for 10 years and I'd never had a problem and how did he know about any over hang...which by the way was not true. He kept arguing with me and said he wouldn't pay to fix the stair. Told him I was going to complain to Angie and he said go ahead....His workman admitted he broke the stair and I don't think it would have cost a lot to repair it and under his terms and conditions, it states that Mel is responsible for damages caused by our employees if notified within 2 days..The work was good but Mel was horrible. I bought a lot of things from Angie's list and this is the first and I hope last complaint. I understand that if I'm not completely happy, Angie will make it right. I'll be waiting,"

Due to a minor water leak a section of drywall about 8' x 2' had been cut out. The trim in this area and on the other side of the hall plus a closet had to be placed as well. The drywall and trim had been removed due to a small amount of mold from the water leak.  I called George's painting due to all the great reviews here on Angie's list.  I received an estimate on this work and in addition I asked for an estimate on some painting.  I thought the estimate was very fair. George was extremely professional and even came to look at what the job entailed late on a Friday evening as he was returning from other jobs on his way back to his office. This was absolutely fine with me as I had no plans to go anywhere.  George sent my estimate first thing Monday morning.

In the end I used George's only for the drywall and trim work. The job was easily scheduled and the 2 man crew did an outstanding job. I couldn't even tell there had been any damage. The trim work was outstanding as well with nice miter cuts. It lined up well with the existing molding where the miter cuts met.  It only took them approximately 4 hours to do the job.  I plan to call George's in the future for outside painting of my house.

"The service was great!  We used an Angie's List deal for the cleaning and received a $150 credit toward any work that may be done.  Cleaning was scheduled between 11am-1pm, but their office called around 10:15 saying they were ahead of schedule and asked if they could arrive early.  Cleaners arrived at 10:40 and were done by 11!  Obviously I can't see the inside of the chimney to verify how clean it is, but the two gentlemen that serviced our chimney were very professional and worked well as a team.  They provided an estimate for some bricks that were cracked on the exterior of the chimney that need to be replaced, and repointing the shoulder, as well as waterproofing the exterior of the chimney.  We're going to have another estimate provided just for cost comparison, but all of these items were things we were already aware needed attention, and I believe they are very honest in their work.  I'd be happy to use them again!
