"John arrived on time and brought a replacement defrost hose in case that was the problem but after taking it all apart, he said the hose was clogged (with pine nuts!) and didn't need to be replaced. He was very efficient and explained everything as he went along. The price was very fair and I would call Little City again should I ever need any appliance repaired."

"Extremely disappointed with my recent experience with DeHart. I chose them based on their positive reviews, but my experience was far from satisfactory. I had them replace two bathtub faucet core valves, and after joining their "Love Club" membership at an additional cost of $199 per year, I received a 20% discount on the repair. Despite this discount, I was still charged a staggering $762 for the repair. This brought the total cost to $961, including the membership fee. The membership claims to offer warranty and insurance for their work and parts, but here’s the catch: you must remain a member indefinitely to benefit from it. If you decide to leave, you forfeit the supposed warranty. I initially assumed the repair would be complex and the parts costly, but I later found that the two faucet valve core parts can be purchased online for only $25 each. When I expressed my concerns to customer service, I spoke with Randy, who defended the pricing as "fair and standard" due to the lifetime warranty. However, this warranty only applies if you continue paying $199 annually for the membership. This experience felt like a complete ripoff. The repair was overpriced, and the membership terms are misleading. I regret choosing DeHart Plumbing, Heating, & Air based on their reviews and urge others to be cautious before committing to their services."

"They are scammer, they ask you to sign for just showing up at your house, they will promise you they will be back, then get paid by the manufacturer, then they claim nothing was wrong ...without even touching your equipment. --------------------------------------------------------------------- After purchasing the refrigerator we waited for a few months to open the box before putting our house on the market, in order to switch the old refrigerator with the new one. The refrigerator was in perfect condition, zero issues, with the exception of it making a very loud buzzing noise. It happens between 5 to 8 times a day on average. It will sound out in the middle of the night, also. Fortunately (or unfortunately) it doesn't last long, just about 10 seconds, only giving a very short window of time to record the sound (using whatever device). My wife went to Lowe's, and through one of the assistant manager?s, Ashley, got all of the information needed to obtain the repair. After contacting "

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

"Repair Clinic sent me a water intake valve that had some scuff marks and an unnecessary fixture (which I thought nothing of, assuming it had been removed from a new dishwasher). When the part did not fix my dishwasher's issue, I ordered a circulation pump, which also failed to fix the issue, so I decided to return both parts. Repair Clinic blamed me for the scuff marks and extra fixture, which is unacceptable. They referenced their return policy which states that parts which have been installed cannot be returned, and denied me any form of refund. For all I know, the water intake valve was defective, and I have no recourse. Don't put any stock in the "No-Hassle 365-Day Returns" they proudly tout on their homepage. Instead, expect finger-pointing and uncaring dismissal. You are better off with one of their many competitors."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Reno, NV

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
