"I don't write reviews but I am making an exception in this case. Paul Henry installed our windows (20) in 2014. We had several of the windows made lower (expanded) as well. Five years since, I could not be happier. They gave the option of spray foam insulation around the window casings to help with drafts from original construction. What a difference. Not at all pushy and not the cheapest but boy was it worth it."

"Kelemer Brothers did an excellent job replacing my windows. They were professional, punctual, and responsive to questions. Joe, the owner, was very knowledgeable about the window product and installation. The crew cleaned up as they worked and after all work was completed."

"Outstanding quality of work for the install of over 20 windows and doors. Install team is excellent in the quality of their workmanship, attention to detail and professionalism through out the process. Sales team is outstanding, providing product knowledge, customer follow up and of course providing competitive pricing on a wide range of window and door products. Very satisfied with their products and services, will continue to use them and I would certainly recommend them as a quality company to do business with for windows and door products and install services."

"<p>Miguel and his colleague are AWESOME. We needed to replace and install a new bathroom vanity (and plumbing, faucet, everything that goes with installing a vanity), and he came immediately after a single phone call and some text message exchanges. He went to Home Depot to get things for plumbing. He took out a 35 year old bathroom vanity (quite large) and installed the new one we bought. He also bought the exact paint I wanted and brought it over. He took down an enormous mirror that several contractors who looked at simply refused to take down, all in one piece. Even mirror specialists were complaining and refusing to do the job because it was "dangerous." Dangerous my a**. Miguel removed it like he does it every morning for fun or something. This is the epitome of craftsmanship. We were awed.</p> <p> These two men were extremely polite, professional, hard-working, punctual, and did an excellent job on virtually everything we asked in our last-minute request. His colleague is a quiet worker, who is likewise very skilled, and cleans everything up afterwards. </p> <p>Surely, it's an underestimate to refer to his profession as a "handyman"; he can multi-task like no other. Professional contractors that specialize in certain things (like mirror, vanity, etc) look like amateurs compared to Miguel and his colleague. I've been very tired of remodeling my home with twenty or more contractors coming in and out; providing estimates, refusing to show up, damaging things when they do show up, or being extremely rude. It's really stressful to remodel anything, but I must say this was the most pleasant experience I had with a company during the entire remodeling process. Highly recommend to anyone. </p>"

"Outstanding company and product. Nineteen windows were replaced. The crew showed up at 0730 as scheduled and did an excellent job installing and cleanup. I interviewed six window installers and after reviewing each proposal I knew NOVA Installations gave me the best window for the best price. Jim L Vienna, VA"

"Superb customer service, professionalism, quality and installation. My interaction with Hodges windows and doors has been one of my best experiences with any house improvement company! Tom Langworthy initially came to measure windows and detail what was required. Tom, and everyone else afterwards setting up the installation, and finally the installers were great! I would hire this company again in a flash! - Really great in every way!"

"We replaced a very large French door opening to our backyard. The price quoted was well under the other quote we received from a well known replacement window company that advertises. The process was personal, communication was excellent throughout and the product is beautiful. I will absolutely use this company again if I need windows or doors."

"Hiring Performance Home Improvement has been an absolute dream experience and I am SO glad that I ended up using them. Though they were not my 1st choice, they were certainly the best and SO wish I had started with them! Let me explain… I have two homes that needed roofs, gutters and other items replaced/fixed after a recent hail storm. I figured it would be easy to get a contractor to work with me but to my surprise, it was not. I spent weeks dealing with contractors only to end up having to start all over each time. I could go into the frustrating details but to summarize, one took weeks to get back to me with messed up proposals, one never got back to me with a proposal, and one I had received a proposal from and agreed to use, never responded to my emails/calls to do the work! And ALL of them asked for the insurance claims to be able to quote me a price. Seriously? Not having luck with other means, I decided to give Angies List a go. I made a short list of 3 local contractors and Performance Home Improvement was the 1st I called. The owner Ed Brown showed up when scheduled, took his time going over the two houses in detail, explained my options, and sat down with me then and there to draw up a proposal. Because of my prior experience, I had concerns trusting but decided to sign and use them. I cannot emphasize enough how glad I am that I did! Work was done when scheduled, completed on time, and done with care and quality results. He was quick to respond to questions, always communicating what was happening when, and then confirming what was supposed to happen did. I was amazed at how fast the roofing crew worked! So many houses around me took days and these were each done well within a day. Ed personally handles the gutter / downspout work and when I asked why, he told me crews are paid by the foot and tend to rush the jobs which do not reflect the quality he demands. Though I was already feeling good about my decision, that sealed it for me. =) I hope I never need roof replacement again but should I, Performance Home Improvement will be my contractor without hesitation!"

"Doug from American Screen & Glass replaced the glass in my sliding door. He was professional, worked quickly, and did a great job. He explained what he did and gave me some maintenance pointers as well. Changing the glass vs replacing the sliding door was a substantial savings."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Reston, VA

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
