"Overall, satisfied with the work. Jose was responsive to my questions and returned all of my calls promptly. There were delays in the work due to some miscommunication, which was unfortunate but not a major issue. Once on the job, Jose and crew worked diligently to replace the windows and did an excellent job with sealing and cleaning the windows before wrapping up. <br />"

"Original aluminum windows had mostly lost their seals and were fogged. Heard about Dave so approached him to to replace a few of the worst windows, but after seeing the advantages of new windows and the reasonable cost (Renewal by Anderson quoted me over $50,000!) we decide to do all the windows. We had to order some custom windows due to the curved tops but they still were delivered by Alside within about 4 weeks and installation was schedule almost immediately. The install crew showed up on time and did a great job. Took their time to take out the old and install the new and finished in 2 days. I was very impressed with the crew! I especially liked that they had worked long term with Dave and when he stopped by to check on the status they obviously had a friendly relationship. New windows look great!"

"Pricing was competitive and their quality was great. They had originally come out with a door that was 1/4" too tall, so the door didn't quite line up with the other glass wall. I didn't even notice it until they pointed it out and said that they'd have the replacement ready next week. They came back out and put in the door that aligned perfectly -- no extra cost to me. About 2 years later, the door had slipped down just slightly and was rubbing against the tile on the bottom. I called them out and they were able to come out a couple of days later to adjust the door with no charge. Happy customer, will definitely keep them in mind in the future."

"I did extensive research on windows to be replaced in my home.  Smart Temp Windows was one of the over 12 contractors I met with and provided a quote for the job.  <br /> Tony at Smart Temp was consistently polite, prompt, professional and knowledgeable. <br /> We decided to have several windows replaced by Smart Temp and are thrilled with the results.  <br /> Tony kept us well informed along the way, was always very punctual and went above and beyond with the actual installation.  <br /> We are planning to have Tony replace the remaining windows in the Spring, <br />"

"Rhonda is incredible. We renovated a new house we bought and had her replace all of the windows in it with premium, all black, aluminum windows. They look so amazing! But the best part was just working with Rhonda. Hands down one of the most competent individuals I've ever worked with. Answered every call within like 1 ring, knew it was me, and either always had her notes in front of her or just had my project memorized...not sure which but it was incredible. Super friendly, honest, thorough, excellent communication, detail oriented, and she does such a good job of educating you on the different choices you have. And she has access to anything you could want so that was a big plus! Her crew was phenomenal too. Very professional, pleasant, and friendly. And they did outstanding work. We had all the windows replaced in a previous house by a nationwide company...it was more expensive, I cleaned up shards of glass for a whole year after the install, the windows weren't as nice, took up more windowsill space than the originals, and got the house pretty dirty. Rhonda's crew might have left the place cleaner than when they got there, and the only evidence they were even there were a couple small nicks on a couple windowsills."

"I had this work done in the last two years, but prior to using Angie's List, so just now writing a review. You can't go wrong with First Exterior Designs. I get compliments all the time on the quality of the windows and doors. They were easy to work with, and the two installers are top notch. I send their name to anyone I hear who needs new windows or patio doors. I can't say enough about them. You won't be disappointed!"

"Very friendly crew wasted no time in getting to work. Showed up on time completed the job as expected, except one of the windows was not made right and one off the installers had to come back later to finish the job."

"It went very well. James Sparks & crew were very respectful, professional, efficient, & prompt each day they came to install the windows, They worked well together, only took a short lunch break then got back to work. I had James take down my existing curtains & blinds and he did so only on the windows they were installing each day and replaced them perfectly, all lined up with the windows. They asked me which windows I wanted them to start on first so I could coordinate their work with my security company appointment afterwards. My windows have beautiful dark brown frames to match my home with full screens from top to bottom on windows that open. I was able to select the grids that I wanted on some windows and a frost on the bathroom windows. These windows have cut down on road noise so that the inside of my home is much quieter. I am very pleased with my windows and the service I received."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Rhome, TX

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
