Bob spoke candidly and agreed that I was in pretty good shape and the work that needed to be done could wait until the spring. He was reassuring and reasonable. Inspected both chimneys and took out the scam liner that had been placed 11 years ago. He made recommendations as to testing to be done and we both hope the draft tests well show no problems. There was no charge for what he did today...we will address charges to be expected after we know the draft test results. To be taken care of in the spring, 2022."

The three crews which came to my house were all very professional, although the lead tech at the first visit did not measure, so the special order cap did not fit and a second one had to be ordered. "Bill and his crew came in and performed their chimney sweep cleaning services in my rumford wood burning fireplace. Price to perform this service was $200. This took his two workers approximately 45 minutes to complete. They made sure they keep the entire area very clean and placed a drop cloth to catch any fallen black ash. They vacuum cleaned the entire fireplace area after finishing their cleaning duties of the chimney. They measured the throat of the chimney in order a new replacement Chimney Cap / Damper. . One week later , they installed a new Chimney Cap / Damper. size is 12" x 17" - Cost for new Cap/Damper is $840. They also cemented in place the existing damper in the "open position" in place. Bill informed me that this Damper has a "lifetime" warranty because this product was made with good quality metals and is also made in the USA."
