"Michael Ridgeway was wonderful to work with because he listened to how I wanted the gate to be finished so it would be structurally strong. I would hire him again without any question. Michaels helper that worked along with him worked very hard. I really appreciate their work ethics. Thank you so much Michael and Tommy! Sherie"

"We had attempted to replace a cracked shower drain cover ourselves, and ended up cracking the drain pipe. Based on my initial inquiry, uncertain if there was a little fix or if it would be a big project, Teri first responded by email suggesting a band-aid fix using caulk. I was extremely grateful for the suggestion. This is one of my favorite things about SHEcan2: that Teri will talk you out of a project that shouldn't be done, or help find the affordable solution, so that in the end you are happy with the final decision. The caulk didn't work to seal the drain, so she came out right away to take a look and give us a quote. At the same time we looked at a (related) mystery leak and discussed how to investigate that at the same time. Since our budget is constrained by child-care costs, I was very grateful that Teri made suggestions for how to keep the project more affordable, while achieving all objectives. I was also impressed and grateful that she was able to immediately get us scheduled, since I know that sometimes they are booked months out. At the start of the project there were a couple delays due to another project running over and a truck dying, but otherwise the work was done in 2 days + a few hours for the second coat of mud and texturing. We are very happy with the new shower surround and faucet. I only had two complaints. The first was that the discussion of the side objective of investigating our mystery leak did not get communicated clearly to the workman, so I had to bring it up to him directly. The second was cleanup: he put a drop cloth down on part of the bedroom carpet during part of the work, but it didn't prevent paster dust from his shoes being tracked through the house, and there was significant difficult-to-clean plaster dust on the carpet and smears of plaster on the bathroom floor."

"I was very satisfied with the repair work Mr. Lopez completed at my home. He trimmed two doors that will now close with new carpeting and he installed a new door handle in my kitchen.  He arrived on time and completed the work in a timely manner. I would definitely use his services again for home repairs and recommend him to my friends. <br />"

"The job went very well. Vasile at Juravle Tile & Remodel pays very close attention to detail and takes a lot of pride in his work. He worked as if it was his own bathroom remodel. He took on an existing bathroom project and made it a tile masterpiece. He was flexible with schedule and always returned calls and texts. Vasile is a professional and artist at tile and bathroom remodeling. I highly recommend Juravle Tile & Remodeling for your project. "Matt responded quickly to our request for an estimate to replace 3 outer doors.  Throughout the process from estimate through  installation, he was very professional.  He answered all our questions and worked with our schedule. The doors look great, and he advised us how to care for them.  His parting words, "Don't hesitate to call with any questions or concerns." We couldn't be more pleased! <br />"

"Loving my backyard. Can’t wait for COVID to be over so I can have gatherings and show off my new backyard. For now, my toddler is loving walking or running around the backyard without worrying about tripping from the old slimy cement I once had. Yay pavers! I worked with Jim, Frank, and Beau. First, Jim has a good vision which helps as most customers like me only know they want pavers and how much I can afford (though never tell contractors that). He measured the area, went over the colors and design, etc. Frank kept me in the loop on the schedule and Beau took care of me during the whole project. I am truly thankful for Beau as he worked with my last minute additions (sitting wall and lights). I mean I literally woke up and thought hmm “lights” and here I go texting Beau. I think since my budget was limited, Jim just gave me what was most important to me and he truly stretched what I can reach with my budget. The guys who worked on the pavers are like miracle workers, I mean I went to get a quick fast food brunch drive-thru and when I came back, the old stuff was mostly all taken down and its only been an hour or so. What they can do in 2-3 days was unimaginable. Yes, thats all the time it took and no they did not cut corners as I was observing the process from time to time. It was like HGTV live for me (I mean we all watch “Property Brothers” and the such but to see it in person was very entertaining). Yes, there was no way I could have DIY this backyard project and I wouldn’t want to. When it was all done, I was very happy. I’m also impressed by the warranty as when it started raining after a month and I discovered small area pooling water. I texted Beau and low and behold, I was penciled in very fast and it was fixed by the time it rained the next time. Their knowledge on how to fix problems was very helpful especially to someone like me who would leave things to professionals but watch so I can learn from their experiences. To make my backyard better, I hired a tree removal company to remove a tree that was producing berries that started to stain my new pavers (Oh h*ll no). Unfortunately, the tree removal company cracked a brick and no they didn’t tell me, I can just see some type of scratch mark on it and it wasn’t the evening before they came. I knew it wasn’t covered on the warranty but asked Beau if they can come and fix it. I was willing to pay but they were so nice that they came and fixed it for me for free. I think they felt bad as they knew my plans of how I wanted to show off my new pavers but with COVID, plans were still on hold. They have pride on their work, that small cracked brick would ruin the unveiling. Haha. Thank goodness. Yay, System Pavers."

"Good Life Construction just finished working on my mother's home in South Sacramento, and it looks beautiful! I would like to thank the workers, the owner, and most of all Serge for their outstanding work! Serge is the first guy I met from Good Life Construction. I consider him the "face" of the company. He is kind and personable ... more like an old friend than a company rep. And he was fast and efficient at giving me a detailed estimate of my project. The price was reasonable, and I believed that Good Life Construction would do a good job, because they are the highest-rated contractor on Yelp. What I didn't know was how far they would exceed my expectations! The quality of work was A+, and they were able to complete it faster than other contractors, because they already have their own crew of painters, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc ... ready to work on any project at a moment's notice! I first began looking for a contracting company that would demolish and rebuild the partial brick facade in front of my mother's old house. It was built in 1967, and the brick was crumbling and cracked in many places. Unfortunately, I could only find a couple of companies that lay or repair brick anymore. Good Life Construction is one of those companies. And it was just my luck to find that their company is the highest-rated contracting company on Yelp. Their crew is highly skilled and hard-working. Dimitri and Pavel did a fabulous job laying the bricks! I miss Dimitri's sense of humor and Pavel singing while he worked. Mike, the project manager, was a responsible guy who paid close attention to every detail of the project. He found some serious dry rot in the rim joists behind the brick, and his crew repaired it with great diligence and care. Then, as for my mom's counters, Mike directed me to a place with a large inventory of granite. I was even able to find one that was a rare and beautiful green color! Mike's crew also fixed our pocket/sliding door in the service porch that was always getting stuck. They replaced it with a swinging door that looked even better! Then, when it came to painting the outside of the house, Paul blew my mind with the extra work and time he spent sanding down the numerous old posts in the patio! He did such an exquisite job of painting the house that you would have thought that he was doing it for his own mother. Paul is just about the kindest guy you'll ever meet ... like a younger version of Serge! If this sounds like I'm writing a review for a family member, it's just because Serge, Mike, Dimitri, Pavel, and Paul all make you feel like you're a part of their family. Good Life Construction could actually be called Good Family Construction because that is who they really are ... one big happy family! I trust them just like my family. So now, I'm having them work on my own house in Natomas!"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Rio Linda, CA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
