"The company came out within a few days of my call. Mark T inspected and cleaned the chimney (which wasn't that dirty, as it turned out), and took pictures of the metal stack and the exterior of the fireplace stack. They recommended replacing the 4 refractory panels for approximately $1800. They pointed out warping on the metal stack, which he said might not be an immediate problem but would need to be addressed at some point as it would just continue to get worse. He also said that the chase cover at the top, exterior of the fireplace stack should be replaced. I got a second and third opinion. Both those providers said that the refractory panels are cosmetic only since the entire firebox is metal, and that the price would probably be about $400, not $1800. They also looked at the photos provided by Complete Chimney, and said that the 'warping' that Mark T pointed out was not warping...just normal coloration of the stack and not an issue. They said the chase cover was rusting, but not falling apart and was not any kind of safety hazard. while this company did the initial cleaning I requested, I feel like they were trying to push me to see problems where none existed in the hope that I would have them install a new gas fireplace."

"I didn't like the fact that when they came out, after they came and gave me an estimate at the last minute, they told me I needed a whole new liner which is next to $7000. No one was expecting that, I was kind of put on the spot. I thought they were very professional. I was very impressed with the work they did. I thought it was expensive. "On Monday, 6/26/17, I called Clean Sweep Chimney and Gutter Service and spoke to "Cullen," one of the owners, to set up an estimate for the next day, June 27th. "Bill," their technician, arrived right on time at 10 A.M., June 27th, for the estimate. Having been quoted a price, I asked to have the work begun the same day, and he did. "Bill" began the job by using an electric grinder to remove the worn out mortar from the entire chimney, and he repointed with new mortar. He then installed the stainless steel rain cap, with animal guard, and built a mortar crown to anchor. Thereafter, using a garden house, he washed all the old mortar from the top of my roof and cleaned up after himself. "Bill" was friendly, methodical and quick to get the job done. WHAT STRUCK ME THE MOST ABOUT CLEAN SWEEP CHIMNEY AND GUTTER SERVICE WAS THEIR HONESTY AND THEIR REASONABLE PRICING. Whereas 2 other companies, that I had contacted, informed me that I needed a new chimney liner; I learned from "Bill," my technician, that was NOT the case at all.
