"We hired Valeria and Ed to complete a full renovation of our historic brownstone in Manhattan. They provided us a detailed, incredibly accurate and competitive quote for completing the renovation, regarding both budget and timeline, and stayed entirely within the budget and timeline projected. They were also able to seamlessly pivot and adapt when we made several drastic scope and design alterations during construction. Even considering these changes, Valeria and Ed stayed within the projected timeline for completion of our project. Importantly, they did not juggle our renovation with other concurrent projects, but rather focused entirely on our renovation in order to get the job done well and within the projected timeline. The renovation that Ed and Valeria did on our brownstone has stood the test of time. We have been living in it for years, and have had zero issues or causes for concern. This includes with respect to new air conditioning units, a washer and dryer, a new powder room, a fully renovated kitchen and its appliances, and other major plumbing and electrical work, in addition to aesthetic details like painting, plaster repair and more. "Brennan and his Northwind Designs team rebuilt our front steps and porch, side and back steps, all with blue stone. In addition, they improved the drainage/downspout flow while building two walkways also constructed with blue stone. Finally, they built up part of our yard with topsoil to improve the walkway grade. "Mike and his crew of expert builders did a fantastic job. Mike was offering a 20% off coupon, but even without that, his quote came in lower and with better materials than the other two companies I had quote (and I had already worked with one company on a large project). He came right out to look at the job and had a quote to me within 24 hours. He answered all my questions and we struck a deal. It took a little longer to get started than he said, but it was entirely due to the rainy weather we've had in July and early August. It seemed to pour on every start date we set. Nevertheless, he made my hard deadline with time to spare. He also did the job right -- making sure everything was level, that my plants were taken care of during the building process, ensuring that I was consulted during the building and that I had no questions, and (very important!) using the best quality materials. I am DELIGHTED with the results and know that I would not have received such excellent work or such an excellent price from anyone else. (Note that I didn't hire the company that I'd already done a huge hardscaping project with the year prior....). He even powerwashed my walkway and a concrete area as well as my driveway where he'd stored some materials. Mike is pleasant, customer-orientated, honest, and delivers above expectation. His crew is polite, efficient, and really good at what they do. I watched the guys who built the divider wall and they spent a lot of time picking through the pile of former-chimney rocks to find just the right ones and to lay them in perfectly. They were all so professional and nice that I shared a beer with them at the end of one day's work. Fantastic experience and end-result. Can't wait for the rain to stop so I can use it!"
