When determining which contractor to go with, there were three things integral to our choice - ease, quality and value. As the job required not only paint, but also moderate carpentry work and a new seamless gutter system; we frankly did not want to be coordinating with two or three contractors' schedules, etc. LOPCO Contracting addressed all items for the house, making the process so much easier. The balance between quality and value can be quantified in many ways, especially when quotes vary so wildly. Quite simply, we felt as though the job was worth every dollar spent - and we're both quite particular. And while not something we initially considered, we felt it worth mentioning that all those who we worked with are great guys - a sentiment also shared by our 22-month-old daughter (the greatest of all tests). "Mario did a fantastic job painting our new nursery - walls, trim and ceiling. After having a cancellation with another service provider earlier in the week, we contacted Mario and he came out next day to assess and quote the room. Two days later he was here to do the work - on time and on the budget we discussed. He came prepared with all of his equipment, showed us the paint color to confirm before he started and got right to work and finished in half a day! "I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. The work here is never easy - nothing is level, nothing is square - but the Greens' end result has always been beautiful - strong and made to last. Their prices are fair and without hidden costs....maybe not the lowest bid you might get, but you know it's a real bid that they will stand behind. They triage projects for us, giving us an idea of what other items will likely need attention in the next few years. We're not done with this house yet....we've never won the lottery, and there's always another repair..... and plan to use them again soon. I feel confident knowing that the next owners of this house, whoever they might be, will see the quality of the work and know that we cared enough to have the right people help us with the ongoing repair and maintenance of a 275+ year old house. I am a real person, a real customer, with no ties to the company, and was more than happy to write this review."

The walls look fabulous, not a streak or brush line to be seen! After finishing his work the room was left clean and neat with no sign of paint or dust. "We used Al to finish our basement when we moved into our condo in 2015. This January, we called Al to have a complete remodel of our kitchen done. In 23 days - yes 23 days - Al completely gutted the kitchen, arranged for granite counters, cupboards and old appliances to be taken away and then proceeded to build us a kitchen that is not only functional - it is beautiful! He had to match in hardwood flooring and I still cannot see where the new flooring begins. Al is a craftsman in every sense of the word; his skill in every aspect of building and remodeling is outstanding, he is neat, cleans at the end of every days work, he is always on time and puts in a full day starting with his single glass of iced coffee. He does not stop to eat! He expects any contractors that he brings in to have the same high standards that he has, so we are confident that all aspects of the remodel would meet, if not exceed, our expectations. He has an uncanny ability to look at the big picture and thinks of everything that could go wrong so that if it does - he has a plan. His attention to detail was much appreciated as he was dealing with a true OCD homeowner. His affable personality makes it easy to consider him a friend by the time he is finished with the job.
