"My old hot water heater died, and a friend installed a new small 40 gal tank. But I never had hot water after that. I also had a leaking lead pipe. Patrick came and had to be a sleuth to try to determine the cause of the missing hot water. The tank was too small and not functioning, but the real problem was a crossed pipe somewhere in my 1890 house. He found the pipe location in the basement and put in a shut off valve, which gave most of the house hot water. He also put in a high quality 50 gallon tank, and repaired the leaking lead main. To completely fix the hot water, it will mean opening walls, so we left a small 1/2 bath sink and attic sink to be fixed at a later time (or not....).. This was all around Easter, but he put in long days to get it all done."

A couple of things were noteworthy.
We presumed that an ejector pump was broken and would need replacement, but Big Wrench first explored the possibility that it wasn't working because of an electrical problem. It's always nice when a contractor doesn't immediately default to the full replacement/high cost option. The pump did need replacing as we suspected. The charge was considerably lower than other prices we were quoted.
We wanted two toilets and one faucet fixture checked, and got a price quote for all of that plus the pump. After that price quote, Big Wrench added a check of a third toilet and three more faucet fixtures for no extra charge.
All done quickly and professionally.

"Charlie is a top-notch guy, super friendly, and most importantly, very honest.  I had initially called him because I thought my 7-year water heater was ready to be replaced (pilot was no longer lighting after having months of issues).  After telling him what was going on, he said I didn't need to replace the water heater, probably just the thermocouple / ignitor.  I called him at around 9.30am, and he was out here by around 12pm.   He took a quick look, confirmed his suspicion, and left to pick up the parts and install them.  After that was fixed, I showed him an issue with my leaking toilet which he repaired as well. I couldn't have asked for better service, and will be referring to friends/family and calling him again next time.  Thanks Charlie.

"Great thanks Technicians TONY and TYLER! This service rang ALL the bells. They were very professional and pleasant. I Had them replace three shutoff valves under the sink which were frozen and had small leaks. I asked about cheaper fixes and they advised replacing the whole valves, which was actually what I preferred. They gave a price and it was exactly what I researched as being a good, reasonable price. "We had a blockage in our main sewer pipe under the basement floor. It turns out we had an old flood control gate that had collapsed. It was about 80% closed, so water was not able to get out of the house appropriately. I called several companies and not only was Robert's price reasonable, he was the most knowledgable and willing to talk through the issue and the solution. Robert, Phillip, and his crew were able to break up the concrete floor and replace the pipe despite the fact that it was encased in several feet of concrete and was located right near our fireplace. It was a bigger job than we anticipated due to the original pipe being encased in much more concrete than is typically used, but they were able to take care of everything without destroying the walls or fireplace. The new pipe was put in, and the hole was patched with cement. I can't say enough good things about the planning and work that Robert and his crew did. They were skilled and professional and a pleasure to do business with. Despite the large hole in the floor, the clean up was impressive. Half way through the process when we saw just how big and difficult the job was, I felt confident that we chose the right company. This problem could have been a lot worse, and I am glad we trusted Lincoln Sewer and Drainage to take care of it. They also noticed that our catch basin needed minor cement repair, and took care of that while they were here. I highly recommend Lincoln Sewer and Drainage, and I won't hesitate to use them again in the future."
