"Bill Staniscia was responsive, professional, and performed quality work. He had to remove bushes and a cracked sidewalk. He is studded out the frame for the larger sidewalk to the house. He laid stone for the foundation and his son tamped it. Then they poured the cement. I love it!!. It is beautiful and makes the curb appeal better. Thank you, Bill!"

"Dan and his son did a great job repairing a damaged plaster wall. The wall looks new! They also removed a wall/window AC unit and installed window, complete with beautiful new trim around the window. They had to remove siding and cut through the exterior wall of the house to enlarge the opening for the new window. The finished job looks beautiful."

"Great! I'm not a 'handy' person and needed help installing some blinds, a valance, a dimmer switch and fixing the lock on my sliding glass door - just little odd jobs that needed to be done for a while. Mark was perfect - kind, personable, knowledgeable and efficient. Mark does a lot of jobs - both big and small - so I will definitely use Handyhelpers again and highly recommend them. I especially like that he lives close by so by using his service I'm helping my community (as well as myself)."

"

Tony and his crew painted the exterior of a home I own in the Midtown Historic District in Harrisburg.  At the beginning of the project, they discovered rotted window frames and notified me quickly.  After I had the damage corrected, they went on to paint the siding and all the wood trim on this 1880's home.

I was very happy with the result.  The painting they did was absolutely perfect!  It looks fabulous, and several neighbors have complimented the job and asked for the contractor's info.

Tony was very communicative and was a pleasure to deal with.

I would definitely use again!

"I called Alex at 24/7 Handyman to provide me with a quote for a master bathroom remodel.  We live in a development that was built in the late 70s and all the master bathrooms are tight (about 6' x 9').  We bought our house two years ago and the master bath hadn't been updated since it was built (yellow vanity top, yellow toilet, horrific wallpaper, etc.).  Before even coming out to provide an estimate Alex asked me several general questions about our bathroom and what our expectations were for the remodel.  I was very impressed with his attention to detail and professionalism on the phone and looked forward to meeting him in person.  The first visit Alex came out by himself and took all the measurements of the bathroom and presented us with several options for the remodel.  He explained that he would need approximately 2 weeks to complete the work, but he wanted to check with his head contractor to be sure.  He worked up a quote to not only completely gut the bathroom, but he also gave us a quote on a bathroom expansion.  Alex came back about a week later with his contractor Robert and he took a look at the surrounding wall structure and told us the expansion did not involve any load bearing walls.  He also went into our attic to find a direct route to install a ventilation fan in the bathroom.  I was equally impressed with Robert as I was when I met Alex; both men were incredibly professional and took us step by step through the whole project.  The quote for the expansion came in at just over $8,000.  Every aspect of the project was itemized on the quote so we could see exactly what work was going to be done and what each step would cost.  Alex provides all the materials and provides an allowance to you in the quote (example would be tile, toilet, vanity).  He clearly lets you know that his allowance figures are averages and that customers have gone very high end for fixtures and some stayed more with stock items.  In the end we put the project on hold due to other financial priorities, but I will absolutely give Alex a call back once this project makes its way back to the top of our list."

FAQs for carpentry framing installation projects in Robesonia, PA

Professional contractors complete basement framing in three to five days, depending on the size and complexity of your space. Projects with simple, open layouts progress faster than those with multiple rooms and corners. DIY framers should expect the job to take significantly longer, potentially seven to 10 days or more, depending on experience level and available time. The timeline doesn't include other aspects of basement finishing like drywall installation, electrical work, or finishing touches, which extend the overall renovation schedule.

Most municipalities require building permits for basement framing projects. These permits cost between $1,200 and $2,000, ensuring your renovation meets local building codes for safety and structural integrity. Working without proper permits can result in penalties, forced removal of completed work, and complications when selling your home. Your local building department can provide specific information about permit requirements, inspection schedules, and any special considerations for basement renovations in your area.

For basement framing, use pressure-treated lumber for bottom plates (the horizontal boards that contact concrete floors) to prevent moisture damage and rot. Standard kiln-dried lumber is suitable for wall studs and top plates that don't directly contact concrete surfaces. The most common lumber dimension for basement wall framing is two-by-four, though some situations may call for two-by-six lumber to accommodate thicker insulation. Always check local building codes, as some jurisdictions have specific requirements for basement framing materials.

You can install drywall after framing is complete and inspected, but several important steps should happen first. Ensure any electrical, plumbing, or HVAC rough-ins are completed and inspected before closing up walls. Installing insulation between studs is highly recommended for temperature control and moisture management. Drywall installation adds an average of $3 to $4 per linear foot to your project, with painting costing an additional $2 to $6 per square foot. Address any moisture concerns before enclosing walls to prevent future damage and mold issues.
