"From the first phone call this was the most professional experience I've had with anything done at my home. Sales person was accurate, office personnel polite and responsive, and installation guys were wonderful. I've had other windows installed and this experience was by far much better. The final product really added to the appraised value of my home. I would highly recommend."

"The Pace Windows representatives and installers, and phone staffers showed extreme professionalism and did a quality job in all areas. They were punctual and could be reached for questions and concerns at all times. Some of the other highly recognizable names in the Rochester, NY and surrounding areas proved to be difficult to reach by phone and even harder to get an estimate from. Pace has the best guarantee in the business (for our needs) probably because they sell quality products and install them correctly in the first place. Hopefully we will never need to use the guarantee, but rest assured that Pace will be very responsive in honoring their contract. Special Thanks to Jeff Bleecker, Larry Harris, and Chris (the installer), and also all the phone staff for doing such a great job in all areas. We recommended Pace Windows."

"Very well. Installer was prompt and courteous. Worked efficiently and carefully. When it proved necessary to trim a shrub in order to proceed with removal of the old window, he verified this was acceptable before proceeding and only removed minimal amount."

"We have an historic home built around 1865. Exterior: The clapboard siding, trim, storm windows and front porch needed to be painted, along with patching foundation cracks. Kathy and Dan did an excellent job at making our house look like new with paint! Older homes take a lot of work and patience when painting. They worked hard and efficiently. We are very happy with the results! Interior: Walls, ceilings, trim and cabinets all needed rescuing! Kathy did a great paint job on everything. She was knowledgeable on which paint and primer to use for each surface. She also did some caulking where necessary. Kathy and Dan are wonderful people to work with on improving the look of your home with paint. They listen to what you are looking for and make sure you are pleased with their work. We are very happy with their paint job and are enjoying the new look of our old home! We highly recommend them!"

"Installation went very well. The equipment required an additional part for installation which was immediately communicated to the Issac project mgr......the project awaits final completion this week. I was not required to pay the final bill until project completion and quality review with project mgr. I have had Issac perform work on my boiler system with great satisfaction as well. They also properly sized a new natural gas line when another installer made an improper design install."

"I knew that replacing all the windows would be a big expense so I got three estimates, all with very good ratings.  One was unbelievably high and two were similar.  I chose Big L based on Angie's List ratings, the fact that it is a local family business where you talk to people who have actually installed windows, and they are available if repairs or adjustments might be needed.   The salesperson discussed all the options and explained the advantages of their products without running down or making up exaggerated criticisms of other companies, as  another company had done. Also I am over 60 and single, and they did not insult me as another company had done by repeatedly asking me if I had a husband or if my children should be in on the decision. <br />  I decided to go with Marvin fiberglass windows, even though they are more expensive than vinyl, based on appearance and environmental concerns. I got mostly casement windows and the operate effortlessly and, unlike the old ones, swing out enough that they can be cleaned from inside.   It is a lot of money so I don't know how to evaluate the cost (excellent vs. good)  but my old 1960's era windows were in bad shape, I waited years to do something about it,  and I think much of the cost will be recovered in resale value. <br />  I had to make a slight change in the installation date due to changes in travel plans, and nice woman in the office worked that out for me--it had to be done in one day so they send a double crew of 6 capable, courteous installers who got the entire job done by early afternoon!  My windows look great. The outside trim was offered in several colors and one was an excellent match for existing trim and a better appearance than everything in white.   <br /> They have not gone through a winter yet but I am very confident that they will keep the house more comfortable and quiet. <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Rochester, NY

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
