"Treasure Protection Management, Inc. (TPMI) and Daley Home Improvement Services, LLC (DHIS) are the worst contractors I have ever hired to remodel my kitchen. Avoid them at all costs! Mike Daley, the salesperson and CEO of DHIS, will say anything to get you to sign a contract. What was estimated to be a 2-week project has now stretched to 5 1/2 weeks, and it is still not finished. Issues encountered: 1.The kitchen design was incorrect. 2. DHIS employs unqualified workers. 3. Cabinet doors were installed to open the wrong way. 4. DHIS employees had to return multiple times to correct their mistakes. 5. My house was damaged during the demolition/installation process 6. Subcontractors did sloppy work, such as installing a sink with broken clips. 7. Change orders were not presented before additional work began, in violation of their policy, leading to unexpected charges. More issues emerged after DHIS employees left. In conclusion, DHIS is not a company you want to hire for any remodelin Update on Daley Home Improvement Service LLC (11/13/2025) Despite repeated requests, Mike Daley has failed to provide the electronic permit I paid for. After contacting the Department of Permit Services (DPS), I was informed that no permit was ever pulled for my property. This means the money I paid was pocketed instead of being used to secure the proper electrical permit ? a serious violation that raises major safety concerns for my family and home. I have formally reported Mike Daley and Daley Home Improvement Service LLC to MHIC (Maryland Home Improvement Commission) and the Office of Consumer Protection (OCP). ? Homeowners beware: If you previously hired DHIS for remodeling work, demand a copy of the permit you paid for and confirm that the final inspection was completed. Do not assume the paperwork was handled properly. I will provide further updates once MHIC completes its investigation."

Customers say: True professional

"We recently had our kitchen remodeled by Managed Renovations. The experienceâ from start to finishâ was nothing short of amazing and the finished kitchen is spectacular, exceeding our expectations. The Managed Renovations team, Michael and Natalie, and their subcontractorsâ carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and floor installersâ displayed a level of professionalism, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that was extraordinary. They turned a small, poorly designed 1970s kitchen into a large, beautiful, functional space that is now the heart of our home. Although the project involved demolishing walls and removing the existing cabinets, appliances, and flooring (and replacing them with new cabinets, appliances, and flooring), they accomplished this with minimal disruption to our lives, always leaving our home and the work area clean at the end of the day. Managed Renovations communicated with us throughout, (we could also track every aspect of the project online), making sure we were comfortable with every decision. Their recommendations, whether about design elements or vendors, were always â spot on.â There were no surprises. They delivered what they promised when it was promised, completing our kitchen on time and without any unanticipated costs. Managed Renovations' dedication to excellence and customer satisfaction is truly unmatched. If youâ re looking for a general contractor who will deliver outstanding results, look no further than Managed Renovations."

"This is our second 5-Star review for work accomplished on our 57 year old home this year by Vienna Prime Custom Kitchen & Bath (Prime Custom). The first was for the total refurbishment and modernization of our kitchen. This 2nd 5-Star review is for the total refurbishment/modernization of our 2 upstairs main bathrooms. The bathrooms project was more complicated and costlier than the whole kitchen project. The attached pictures tell the story. This time around we had the same designer/program manager team Feliz and Nick, but the onsite production manager was Milton who only had a minor role in the kitchen remodel. We were initially skeptical in this change, due to our prejudice for the outstanding success of the kitchen project. Our fears were immediately allayed, and we are so impressed by Team Milton. The quality of work, functionality and aesthetics of the remodeled bathrooms exceed our expectations. Additional credit is due to Milton’s expertise, recommendations, and patience. "

Customers say: Quality work

"All the people at Elevate Design and Build were amazing and a pleasure to work with. We doubled the size of our house including tripling the size of the kitchen, knocking out walls to create an open floor plan and added a three car garage with home office over the garage. They even recommended modifications to our original blueprints which were excellent. All their workers friendly and did a first class job. Went totally above and beyond our expectations. One year later we have not had one single problem with any of the work. Total integrity. If any issue came up, the company absorbed the cost - not the customer. Everything they did was done perfectly. We didn't have a single issue or complaint during the entire process. I give them my highest personal recommendation. I would never use anyone else."

"Allen is an excellent carpenter; we had the banister & railing updated; along with the stair threads. We also had the risers reinforced. Hands down, very happy with Allen & his services. My neighbors were so impressed; they also hired him."

FAQs for addition to existing structure building service projects in Rockville, MD

You can typically raise your roof by four to eight feet, depending on your home's structure and roof design. The exact amount depends on factors like roof slope and framing support. Raising the roof creates additional interior space, enhances natural light, and increases your home's value. Consult a professional to determine the feasible height increase for your home.

Yes, you need a building permit to raise your roof. Obtaining a building permit ensures your project complies with local building codes and safety regulations. A professional contractor can assist with the permit and inspection process and ensure all legal and safety requirements are met. Your contractor will be familiar with building codes in your area, which can differ between cities or states.

While it's possible to raise a flat roof, it requires extensive structural modifications. Flat roofs lack the attic space and support structures of pitched roofs, so raising them involves significant engineering to ensure safety and durability. This process can be complex and costly, so professional assessment is essential before undertaking a project of this magnitude.
