"They came the same day on a Sunday to fix a broken spring. Very quick and thorough with the repair. Had the door going back up and down like it’s supposed to in no time."

"When I put my car in the garage last Tuesday evening, I was unable to close the garage door. A garage door company in Cleveland - located only a few miles down the street from my home - did never show up to look at what was wrong. When I started to look for help on the Internet, I found the website of ProLift Garage Doors of Chattanooga with many glowing reviews that satisfied customers had posted about the company's team of well-trained technicians who had done a great job for them in a very efficient and professional manner. I booked an appointment and Seth, their Lead Technician, was sent to my rescue with a well-equipped service truck. It took him only a few minutes to diagnose the problem. He grabbed a ladder and a few tools off his truck and jumped into action. Fortunately, no parts were broken or needed to be replaced, but cables on both sides had jammed up the works. As soon as he got them untangled and adjusted to function properly the door started to move freely up and down. He even lubed the door hinges. Seth did an excellent job making my garage door run even smoother than ever before. Watching him work made me realize that my garage door should have regular maintenance check-ups by a qualified technician and I asked him to put me on the list for the service plan the company offers at a very affordable price."

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Rockwood, TN

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
