"We hired Christian to redo our deck and it was an INCREDIBLE experience. We had some unexpected additional repairs (rotted wood) along the way that he communicated through and we got it done! we had a tight deadline and he crushed it. The deck is beautiful and well made and he went above and beyond with other things we needed (hauling and screening our porch). I 12/10 recommend him for any building or repair projects. He will be helping us with our property from here on out!"

He built a custom mantle and surround exactly to our specifications?actually, better than we had imagined! He also handled our kitchen and bath cabinet installation with incredible precision. "Jim did a great job. He quickly assessed the problem and then took our unit with him to work on it more. When he got back to us, the fix would have cost more than it was worth. He gave us options for a new or refurbished PC. We felt the refurbished was a good deal and chose that. He came back and set that up and we are very happy with it. He then took a look at my laptop and again took it along. He tuned it up and installed a speed upgrade we wanted. Of course, we paid extra for the new unit and upgrades, but we thought the price was very fair. Jim seemed very knowledgeable and responsive. We will definitely call him again if we need any computer services."

"Junior Green and his Clean Hands Painting and Construction crew did an excellent job saving our screened in porch. We had a contractor who had spent 11 months (yes 11 months) installing a screened in porch and he was simply not able to finish the job. We became fed up and found Junior and he was promptly out to review the work and recommend how to fix it. He was able to correct all of the issues with standard construction practices that our last contractor ignored. He made sure that the screened porch was redesigned to protect against water and last for the long term without issues every few years from water damage. In addition to his knowledge of good construction practice he also made our porch look beautiful. Hats off to Junior and his crew for amazing construction work as well as stepping in and redesigning our porch for beauty and longevity. --Doug Young"

"Shawn was one of two contractors who bid on the job.  He came to the house and provided a free estimate.  I accepted his bid because it was significantly lower than the competitor for the same work.  Despite rain delays, Shawn made steady progress on the job and completed the project within six days.  The new deck looks really good and the door frame repair is hard to spot.  He went the extra mile to get matching trim paint that made the repair nearly invisible.  The job cost was exactly as bid and the job is warranted for three years.  Overall a great job.

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Rolesville, NC

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
