"We had the entire back side of our house leveled by Brown, then four years later we called them again to level the front part of the house that had a crack. They were always there when they said they would be, they cleaned up all the trash when they left and afterward sent someone to check the plumbing to make sure there were no leaks."

I’m Brandon Shaw, owner of SHAW Construction & Remodeling, serving homeowners across North Texas. I’ve spent over a decade in construction, starting in heavy equipment and moving into hands-on residential remodeling, so I understand both the big picture and the small details that make a job last. My company focuses on quality work—whether it’s painting, flooring, drywall, or full interior upgrades—and I treat every home like it’s my own. I believe in doing things right the first time, communicating clearly, and standing behind my work long after the job is done.

"Youngs called 20 minutes before the scheduled appointment to let me know the technician was on his way. He arrived on time, was courteous and unclogged the kitchen drain line within minutes. This company is contacted with my home warranty service so I cannot comment on their actual price for service, but well worth my $75 fee. <br />"

"I had no hot water and when I called them in the afternoon, they immediately sent Michael out to meet me at the same day. He was professional, explained what was going on, and recommended next steps to resolve the issue. He installed the new water heater the next day and even made sure to check all the other faucets to make sure his work didn’t screw anything up. Can’t recommend highly enough, especially Michael. Would definitely use again."

"Chris and crew showed up Saturday morning to finish forming for the pour and started pouring in great weather just over half way through, the winds and rain came out of nowhere. The guys were troopers and stayed out there with plastic trying to protect the project. They stayed and finished when the rain stopped. I can't say enough about his crew and Chris. I know dealing with an OCD person was challenging and he put up with me with kindness and patience. His prices are reasonable and I highly recommend him. He did everything he could to make the project successful, even with the unforseen weather issue."

"It went great! New AC, repaired electrical, and plumbing. Replaced 2 bathrooms, new vanity, sinks, fixtures, toilets and refinished the porcelain tubs. Installed all new kitchen including cabinets, counter tops, and appliances. All new flooring throughout. Repaired/replaced siding to exterior and repainted entire exterior, repaired roof, re-plastered all walls and ceilings and then painted entire interior. All new lighting fixtures. Basically the only thing we kept in place were the walls, windows and roof. Brett (Owner) and Cody (Project Manager) were easy to contact and always responsive. Any issues were resolved immediately and I have several other projects on our farm I plan on asking them to help me with."

"We had water in one of our rental units and thought that it was a problem with the foundation. I had Kevin meet me there. He was awesome. Luckily, the water intrusion was due to the dirt being too high around the exterior of the foundation. Kevin quickly spotted this and made great recommendations on drainage to fix the issue. I certainly will call him again with any foundation issues with any of our rentals or personal residence."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Rosston, TX

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
