"The end result is very good, however, there were some challenges along the way, which at the time were annoying, but were really just part of any construction / repair project. The crew arrived on time to begin the process of hand digging and using an auger to drill the piers to a depth of 10-12 ft. The first challenge occurred when the auger broke our water supply line to the house and filled it up with water. Brown immediately called their plumbing company for repair, but the pouring of the piers was delayed. At he same time, the auger machine damaged our porch column and gutter downspout. The machine also damaged the siding corner at our sun room at the rear of the house. During the process of digging / drilling the piers our sprinkler system piping and control wiring was disturbed and / or damaged as well. The piers were successfully poured, and after curing, the foundation was successfully raised. Because we had a sewer leak to repair at the same time, we raised the foundation, had the leak repaired, and then Brown returned to perform the mudjacking. Here is where the ball was dropped a bit. During this process, there was an enormous amount of dirt / debris generated. This dirt was piled, on plastic on our front lawn and other places. We knew this going in. However, after the piers were drilled and poured, the mudjacking performed, there was a 2 week period in which there was absolutely nothing done to "finish" the job by filling holes, replacing landscaping, and grading the dirt around the house. Finally, they had a crew available to return, but by this time, in the June-July, with no sprinkler system, and huge pile of dirt on the lawn, well, it was a disaster. <br /> To their credit, through all of these challenges, in the end they stepped up and made it right. They replaced the st Augustine in the front, their plumbers repaired the damaged lines, the price was adjusted to reflect the repairs to the downspout and siding, and they sent their sprinkler people out twice to repair / replace components damaged during the process. <br /> During the whole process, everyone was responsive, kind, and professional. <br /> All of our doors open and close now and we will have cosmetic repairs done in approximately 6 mos. after everything has settled. <br /> Bottom line, we would recommend Brown Foundation Repair. <br />"

I’m Brandon Shaw, owner of SHAW Construction & Remodeling, serving homeowners across North Texas. I’ve spent over a decade in construction, starting in heavy equipment and moving into hands-on residential remodeling, so I understand both the big picture and the small details that make a job last. My company focuses on quality work—whether it’s painting, flooring, drywall, or full interior upgrades—and I treat every home like it’s my own. I believe in doing things right the first time, communicating clearly, and standing behind my work long after the job is done.

"<p>Our Tech was Glenn, He called before coming and he arrived on time. He was very polite, professional and friendly. He went to work quickly </p> <p>We have had slow drain in the kitchen sink since we move here 4yrs ago. Sink would back up and go into dishwasher. We could not run water in kitchen sink while the dishwasher was running without drains backing up. The Plumber came in undid the pipes under the sink and ran a plumbing snake through the pipes until he dislodged what ever had been causing the stoppage for all these years, reconnected all the pipes and did all this without causing a mess! Afterwards he checked to be sure all the pipes drained well. Removed his equipment and was gone in less than 30 min!! It was wonderful! The pipes never drained so well..</p> <p>   It is awesome to not have to worry about washing dishes and  not fearing another mess.</p> <br />"

"Chris and crew showed up Saturday morning to finish forming for the pour and started pouring in great weather just over half way through, the winds and rain came out of nowhere. The guys were troopers and stayed out there with plastic trying to protect the project. They stayed and finished when the rain stopped. I can't say enough about his crew and Chris. I know dealing with an OCD person was challenging and he put up with me with kindness and patience. His prices are reasonable and I highly recommend him. He did everything he could to make the project successful, even with the unforseen weather issue."

"It went great! New AC, repaired electrical, and plumbing. Replaced 2 bathrooms, new vanity, sinks, fixtures, toilets and refinished the porcelain tubs. Installed all new kitchen including cabinets, counter tops, and appliances. All new flooring throughout. Repaired/replaced siding to exterior and repainted entire exterior, repaired roof, re-plastered all walls and ceilings and then painted entire interior. All new lighting fixtures. Basically the only thing we kept in place were the walls, windows and roof. Brett (Owner) and Cody (Project Manager) were easy to contact and always responsive. Any issues were resolved immediately and I have several other projects on our farm I plan on asking them to help me with."

"I brought them out in 2016 because I was continuing to have foundation issues after another company had worked twice on my home. Kevin came out and said I didn't need foundation work. He recommended I add foundation watering and pointed to a tree in the back yard as drawing water from under the foundation. First I had automating watering installed around the foundation. After waiting a year to see if that corrected my issue, it stopped getting worse, but didn't get better. At that point I broke down and had the tree removed. Within a year almost all the cracks had closed, and doors were working smoothly. I just recently had them out again to see if anything needed doing as I prepare to do some improvements to the home. Keven showed me exactly how my home had improved, comparing old readings to current. We could see how the opposite side of the house had significantly improved from the foundation irrigation and the foundation near the tree had totally recovered. He stated the minor issues I had left did not indicate a need for foundation work. It's a pleasure to work with someone who will give you good advice that doesn't always lead to spending money."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Rosston, TX

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
