"Daniel came and was able to replace the pipe which was not easy to get to, He had to take apart a ceiling with tongue and groove paneling to get at the pipe. He did an excellent job and in a shorter time than I thought it would take."

"Excellent. Brian was very responsive, had ideas and listened to help find the best solution. I hired him to install a new 50 gallon water heater, and he ended up doing that and helping me resolve an electrical issue that was not easily diagnosed. He was quick to respond, showed up on time as expected and made sure the installation was great."

"Gibson White was recommended to me by the Noritz company as a certified installer. He provided a free onsite estimate. He then appeared to do research so that he would be fully prepared to do the work. He was very pleasant and professional to deal with. He had 2 men working with him who were also very pleasant. The job took longer than expected and cost much more money than expected because the gas pipes in the house had leaks and had to be changed. National Grid had to be called 3 times because of the gas pressure coordination, but the timing worked out well and the job got finished. It took 2 days to complete the work and Gibson was on the job for the full time. Considering that the gas pipes had to be replaced unexpectedly, the work went well and we now have hot water in the house. I would highly recommend hiring Gibson. I rated B for the price because I did not get an itemized bill with the breakdown of materials and labor. I received a list of what was done and a price for each thing. Considering the number of hours spent, the number of men on the job and the cost of the tankless hot water heater (listed on the website), I thought the price was very high. I do understand that there are other hidden costs involved, but I still felt the price was very high. I did not complain because I was satisfied with the work and the men were very pleasant and professional. I had extensive electrical work done in my house is Brooklyn and I got and itemized bill of materials and labor and I was very glad to pay the price because I understood what I was paying for."

"Very pleased with the professionalism.  Called back to schedule an appointment and answer questions when he said he would.  Came on time.  Showed initiative regarding the brace for the internal pipe.  Also reminded us about coupon which he honored.  Also provided estimate for 90-year-old concrete basement sink replacement which we are considering. <br />"

"<p>I discovered the leak on the weekend and called first thing Monday morning. They asked if it was an emergency, I told them I had a second bathroom, so it wasn't an emergency. They came the first thing Tuesday morning. The plumber removed the bowl and replaced the wax ring at a cost of $150.00. A check showed it was still leaking. Thinking it might be something more serious he said he would come back the next day with another plumber who was more experienced with the older pipes I have in my house. They came back first thing the next morning and determined that the metal plate between the floor and the wax ring was not level. When I had the bathroom redone the plate was installed on a slant. They leveled the plate and reinstalled the wax ring for the original price of $150.00, no additional charges. I would hire them again without hesitation for any plumbing work.<br /> <br /></p> <br />"

"As a tradesman, I am capable of and prefer doing just about everything in my house - and I don't mean little stuff - so I'm not an easy guy to work for as my standards are quite high. Including this bathroom, which I had no intentions of hiring anyone to help me with. With that said, I couldn't be happier with the decision to hire Dave Heller. It was refreshing to work with a contractor as knowledgeable, professional and straight up honest as Dave. Their work had me impressed, I can honestly say there was no way I could have done a better job myself. Most people probably don't care about what things look like inside their walls as long as the end result is an operational system - but I'm not like most people. What they did here was perfect, I don't know how else to say it. <br /> Obviously there is some serious credit due to his crew. What would have taken me a weekend or more, as it was definitely a tricky job, was done in a day. The right guys were sent, on the day we scheduled, right on time - and had everything they needed and more, as I threw a couple curve balls at them, which they dealt with handily. They cleaned up after themselves - my wife won't have to do a thing when she gets home. Dave came through first thing in the morning and again as they were wrapping up to see it all through. As someone who is generally weary about hiring anyone for anything - I found that kind of supporting presence very reassuring. <br /> I'm really not one to write reviews and such, but these guys exceeded my expectations to the point where I felt compelled to write this. Even though I'm friendly with several I've worked alongside over the years, I never really had a plumber that I'd hands-down recommend to anyone, for one reason or another. It's nice to know that anytime I get in over my head with my plumbing, I have someone to turn to and not have to worry about a thing. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Sagaponack, NY

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
