"First Coast Home Pros gave my home a “top to toe” home cleaning today. As always, after this favorite indulgence, my home looks almost as sparkling new and clean as it did when I moved in 11 years ago. This is my 2nd year of this service and I intend to make it an annual one. They are careful, thorough, and creative in their efforts to cover as many surfaces from ceiling to floor as possible. It makes my cleaning requirements and experiences during the following year so much easier, productive, and fewer. I would highly recommend the “full home“ housekeeping option. I have had several services and interactions with personnel from this company for many years and have always been satisfied and delighted with each."

"The whole process went seamless like their business name. I spoke with Bev, who is beyond professional, cheerful, and helpful, was very good at ensuring that we communicated throughout the whole process. She was able to respond through phone calls or emails to get confirmation and setup appointments for quote and installation. I asked for a recommended setup for my home as I didn't want to do the whole house if it was not recommended. He gave me his opinion on the gutters locations even with the color preference while also providing me with a great deal of knowledge on how to compare their services with others to ensure that I felt comfortable proceeding with them. Installation guys were prompt and were able to complete the job perfectly. And the best part -> I have beautiful gutters that now allow me to enjoy walking into my front door, not piling water on the front yard, and enjoying my backyard. Thank you, Sunshine State Seamless Gutters! What a great family business! Highly recommended!"

"Killian's did the work in under 2 hours, it went smoothly on and look good. They did a okay job on cleaning up material not needed or cut. Word of caution be careful when walking on the grass, especially if you have dogs!.. when everything was said and done, I walked around my house and found a pocket full of metal screws. They did not pick up any screws they dropped, which could have been detrimental to your feet or to your loved pets if they walked on it or tried anything else.."

"Their repairman did an absolutely fantastic job. He went beyond the call and repaired small things I knew were there but didn't ask him to do. Very professional and engaging fellow too! The panels look better than new, and I was not overcharged...the cost was well worth it. Would definitely recommend this company."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Saint Augustine, FL

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
