"The process went incredibly smoothly. From beginning to end, owner Steve Copsey treated me as if I were a high-end customer who was replacing windows on my whole home. He was unfailingly helpful in explaining options--always forthright, upbeat and friendly. Just the week before contacting Zen Windows, I'd scheduled 4 other companies to look at all the windows of my home. Needless to say, I was on overload with a huge range of opinions and prices. I'm retired on a fixed income, and many of my windows were replaced 10 years ago. I had to decide what really needed to be done now, not make a deal with a salesperson. Steve was my guy! After initial contact via email, I learned more from him in one phone conversation about how the window industry works as to product, pricing and installation than I ever could have divined from all the smoke & mirrors I got from others. In first conversation with Steve I was thinking of doing 5 windows; he was unflappable when I decided before finalizing the order on just the 2. His niceness and helpfulness did not go away. In retrospect, I probably should have done a couple more windows since there is a $200 upcharge for under 4 windows (every other company had this caveat, too, so no surprise or bad feelings). Really like picture window insert installed over my kitchen sink instead of a double hung--and wouldn't have known about that option since no other dealers suggested it. We get a clear view out over deck and it even cost a bit less. Eric was great to deal with as installer, but few little touchups which needed to be done after the job, Steve came out personally to attend to. That's service. And, yes, done with a smile!"

"Roman and Alex where great to work with. They where very responsive to any questions that i had. The window and door installers have had years of experience replacing windows, as it showed in their workmanship. The windows and doors I purchased where Sunrise Windows. You can see that they are well made and that the factory takes pride in their product. I will definately continue to use Discount Windows for the contiued replacement of my windows in my home."

"Feeling like I'm always cleaning to keep on top of it but never getting a deep clean done is so frustrating. Not to mention I then never get to the extra cleaning projects like washing windows etc that always remain on my list. Tony and Dena (the owners) came along with two helpers and were at my house from about 1230-5 and when they left I couldn't help but call and text friends and family with what a great job they did. Dena wiped down every surface in the kitchen. My in laws commented that my cupboards were shining, I don't have to buy new burners pans after all, and my fridge looks brand new. Our bumpy fruit backsplash was hand polished and all the grime and food was gone from all the crevices. My wood floors were hand scrubbed and dried top to bottom. Cushions were all removed from all couches and pillows vacuumed and free of a single dog hair (and ours can really shed). They literally cleaned everything from top to bottom in my home. I even noticed the chrome shower curtain rings had been turned and polished. My friends call me frugal and it seemed like a lot of money to spend when I could just clean things myself. I will say the amount that they cleaned would've taken me all month to get done and then I'd have to start all over again. I just can't wait to have them back on a regular basis. Their professionalism and personalities really make me feel like I can trust them to be in my home when I'm not there and the fact that hey have a small team that helps them puts my mind at ease that I'll know who is in my home each time they come (not a new stranger every time). Loved loved loved the job they did and cannot wait to use them again and recommend them to friends and family. <br />"

"I'll update again when the work is done, but everything up until now (just signed the contract) has been great. Our sales rep, Jim, was more knowledgeable about the whole scope of the project than anybody else we had out to bid. He is obviously a carpenter, and he says everybody on their team of installers is as well. Most of the windows are casement, there is one bay window, and a 2-story single pane of glass ($6,000 on it's own). The whole project was bid at $30,114.00, and I'll update when the final price comes in. They will install Marvin Integrity windows which seem like great windows. They were the lowest bid and the highest quality windows, and seem to be better craftsmen. No-brainer."

"Kind thoughtful service. Work space was surprisingly very clean. All three guys were clearly efficient and moving quickly but also very diligent in their work so you knew no mistakes were occurring for the sake of speed. My two little boys were constantly under foot but all the guys would give smiles and gently move around them or let them by (which they didn’t need to do!) and did nothing to compromise safety. Loved their attitudes their work ethic and patience. It was noted one was on his first day, which was hard to believe. Never a harsh word spoken or questionable quality. Loved this crew and our new windows!"

"It went according to plan, one day they took the windows out and recondition them, the next day they put the windows back it. The windows came out fantastic, the guys cleaned up well, the price was very reasonable. They did everything necessary windows work better now than they did when they were new, thanks to their patented window reconditioning process."

"Pat Martin is the owner/operator of this business. We have used him for several years now, replacing a much more expensive firm that used employees to do the work. No surprise that minimum wage laborers do not have the same degreeof commitment to quality as an owner/operator. So, wwhen you hire Martin Bros., you get Pat on the job. We have been delighted each and every time that we have used him. He cleaned our windows a couple of weeks ago, and, after that, he did my son's house and this week my daughter's.  <br /> My daughter's windows were installed last year and still had sticky residue from the manufacturing process. So, Pat had to take more time with his blade and Goo-Gone to remove the gunk before doing the actual cleaning. Now the windows are crystal clear and a joy to look out of. <br /> Another point worth noting: Pat is a very fine and honest person and family man. We do not hesitate for a moment in giving him the run of our house, even if we are away. That makes it much easier to use Pat than, say, a contractor with hourly wage workers whom we do not and really cannot know. <br /> To top it all off, Pat is a real bargain. I often have to tell him that he has not charged us enough!! <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Saint-paul, MN

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
