"We purchased a big deal for the service and it was fine, the guys did a great job. They were not able to wash a couple of windows, because there were screens on the outside, and that is what I learnt about the future, that I have to make sure that the exterior screens are removed before they come. This was the first time that I used them. I was pleased, because the gentleman called and confirmed the appointment, and he also called when the crew was at home, because I was not there when they cleaned, and I appreciated the professionalism. The pricing was fair, for the number of windows that they did."

"The job went very well. The sales rep gave us a quote and then met with us, took preliminary measurements, and provided samples of shutters. Another rep came out to take the exact measurements. Four or five weeks later the installer came. He did a great job. We are very pleased and would use Elizabeth Shutters in the future. Highly recommend them."

"Although the final product worked out well, we had real issues initially with the sales representative. He came out and was very nice and we had committed to replacing all of our windows with a $1000 deposit. Then...nothing! We didn't hear from him although I sent him several emails. I needed some answers to a few questions, and had wanted a brochure of the patio door replacement...nothing that big. However, even after speaking with him on the phone, he never came through--no further calls or contact. After complaining, and asking to put a stop to our order, we were contacted by the manager and then had a really positive experience. The rating could have been a 5 all the way down except for that initial horrible experience. Now, we are happy with our windows, and are very pleased with the quality of the work that was done."

"Anthony was very responsive even though I asked a lot of questions, needed multiple quotes for different window configurations and had some followup items. His price was more reasonable than any of the other 3 vendors I checked with (including my contractor) and the work was done quickly and as promised. I was pleased with the service, the product and the responsiveness. <br /> <br /> One of the windows cracked after installation (contractor problem, not glass company) and Anthony got the replacement window (under warranty) quickly and without any fuss."

"I wish I had used these people earlier. I ordered a part for my dryer and was able through their instructional video to fix it myself. Let me tell you I am "mechanically challenged" in just about every way. LOL I may have cut myself through my own stupidity but I did it. it was easy and I did not have to pay a repair man for a simple fix. Thank you so much!"

"Pella windows have a metal frame. Most glass shops probably don't have the expertise to replace the glass without warping the frame. This one did. On our original call to Tommy's Glass, they recommended that we call Pella to see if Pella could do a warranty repair. From this I learned that every Pella window has a serial # which is used to identify type & date of installation. Found out that I was a few months past the 10-year warranty. Pella quoted a repair price of $460 which may seem steep but the repairman comes out of Hayward area so you have to pay for their travel time & you also have to schedule an appointment which can take 2 - 3 weeks. On the day I called Tommy's Glass, they came the same day, assessed the damage & disassembled the casement window to take the window with the broken pane back to the shop. Within a few hours, he was back with a new pane in place. The reassembly went quickly. I was prepared to pay $400 for the job but Robert Haas, the owner, surprised me with $247. When I tried to tip for the prompt service, he wouldn't take it so this report is my tip. <br /> Would I use Tommy's Glass again? Definitely. <br /> Mr. Haas offered two pieces of advice which made calling him very worthwhile: <br /> 1.  If you have specialty windows like Pella, Anderson, etc., Call the manufacturer to see if the warranty is still effective*. <br /> 2.  Add your windows to your homeowners policy. In my case, I was able to fix one pane painlessly (no boos) since I had a window that could be taken apart. However, sealed windows may require replacement of a whole panel which might be a 4-figure cost. <br /> I have to add that on the initial search of Angie's List Tommy's Glass did not appear. I tried calling a couple of other firms on the list but they did not return calls. In one instance the voicemail box was full, a bad sign. On the others, the experience history was very thin. I lamented to a friend about my odyssey & he suggested Tommy's Glass since he had used them for his properties. <br /> *Although I love my Pella windows, I am not happy with Pella, the company. Two issues: <br /> 1.  The original company, through which I bought the windows, went out of business. So a large credit, due to a Pella double billing, went with it. <br /> 2.  The windows received were not what I ordered although it was close enough that I let the discrepancy go due to trying to stay on schedule on my remodel of all windows. In all other respects, the windows (venetian blinds between the panes) are an every-day joy. It's too bad I can't say the same about my experience with Pella. <br />"

"As part of a bathroom remodel, I needed the light switch moved to the side of the door and the overhead light moved closer to the center of the room.  That was the electrical part of the project -- Kevin also did other parts of the remodeling too -- installing the tub and plumbing for it. <br />"

"In a nutshell, Sergio's work is top notch and he is a real professional. I had about 150 feet of fence replaced and Sergio's work not only met, but exceeded, my expectations. The work site was kept clean every day and the whole job was done much faster than anticipated. The work was so good, I asked him to add a gate, and he still finished it all on time and on the budget we agreed on. Very happy with his work. Check out his website and give him a call if you need work done. I'll certainly use his services again."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Salinas, CA

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
