I emailed Better Water Heaters in the evening with the details and got a phone call from Frans who scheduled Daniel to come and give me a free estimate the next afternoon. In the meantime I got another quote from another installer after texting photos of the current installation. Daniel’s estimate was similar for a standard water heater replacement but although I had not considered a tankless install I asked for a quote on that as well after discussing pros and cons with Daniel. Daniel then waited while I discussed this with my wife and since he could do the install the next day I decided on the tankless install and Daniel arrived the next morning and completed the install in three hours. I am very happy with the quickness and quality of the work as well as the quality of the Rinnai water heater that was installed."

He was very friendly and professional and did everything possible to try and repair the heater before recommending a replacement. Once it was determined that a new heater was needed, he ordered it and then came to my home immediately to do the installation once the heater was available. He completed the job in a timely manner and we were very happy with his service."

"I noticed my water heater leaking late in the evening (Saturday night), and Sunday morning I reached out to Angie's List for a water heater replacement. I set my expectations that it probably wouldn't be attended to until the work week, but Jesus for Jess Plumbing responded within minutes. Checking with some of the big box stores, Jesus had extremely reasonable pricing that included the purchase of the water heater, labor for removing/installing, and hauling away the old one. After confirming pricing, he was at my home with the new water heater in hand within the hour. Once he arrived, he had a very warm and open attitude as he broke down all the steps that we'd be going through. he was very knowledgeable with the alternate methods of electric or tankless, and gave the pros/cons should I decide for an upgrade in the future. Throughout the install, I enjoyed our conversation very much and he didn't mind that I hung out in the garage while working on other projects. He moved with the intention that only comes with years of experience, deliberate and precise. When we had to shut off the water he communicated that ahead of time knowing that my family could possibly have a need to access it. Overall the whole process went incredibly smooth and would not hesitate to hire him again or to recommend him to a friend."

"Countless mistakes were made in most of the plumbing work done.  I was my own general contractor, and I had to be on top of all the work that was done - particularly the plumbing work, where most of the mistakes were made.  For example:
- the gas line for our fireplace was originally run straight up through our living room floor next to the wall (not in the wall) -- simply ridiculous.
- the drain line under our shower was missing a P-trap
- when the old asbestos covered ducts were removed, lots of asbestos scraps were left lying in the crawl space that I had to clean up
- after the plumbing had been in, we had severe knocking/water hammer (required replacing the pressure regulator)
- after the rough plumbing was installed, the plumber left with the water pressure on - we arrived one hour later to find water spraying all over the unfinished bathroom from a pinhole leak in the joint next to the shower valve.  I had to immediately shut off all water -- they came back and fixed the solder joint where I pointed out the leak -- (but claimed they could not reproduce the leak).  Then, once all of the bathroom/shower was finished - the shower valve dripped when off (likely because the fix to the leak resulted in over-heating and warping the valve) -- they did not take any responsibility and blamed the valve manufacturer (Moen).  And since I bought the valve - they claimed no responsibility.  (Shower still drips today when in the off position).
- the plumber was rude to my wife in front of our inspector
- the plumber was clearly over-worked having to do over-time for a commercial job as well -- so our work was rushed, and as a result there were many mistakes that I had to find (they did fix the issues, one-by-one - I give them credit for that - but overall, the work was sloppy). 
I can understand a few mistakes, but this was simply too many.  In our experience, a more appropriate name for this business would be:  "In and Out and Back Again."  This may have come down to one individual's work -- but unfortunately, it has left a bad impression for the whole company.

"This is a small company. The wife answers the phone and makes appointments. She was very prompt in returning my call, friendly and professional. On the day of the appointment she texted me when he was on his way so I would know when to expect him. I never know what to expect when someone shows up at my door. One time I hired someone who just stood there staring at me when I opened the door and I had to ask if he was who I assumed he was. Not Mr. Utor. He was clean and professional, introduced himself and handed me his card. He immediately picked up on my bare feet and kicked his shoes off before he stepped inside, which always makes me and my light carpet happy. The repair went smoothly, he had a well equipped vehicle and didn't have to run to the store to get parts like some of the folks I've hired. He asked me about my air filter and took a look at it just to make sure. I'm pretty good about changing it but when he pulled it out it did indeed need to be replaced. I had one on hand and he installed it for me. I didn't shop price at all so it wouldn't be right for me to comment on that other than to say that I feel that what I paid was fair. Professional, punctual, friendly, efficient, a very pleasant experience. I don't hesitate to recommend HVAC-Utor."
