"Garrett’s Plumbing was a life saver. I have a copper waterline on the ice maker of my old refrigerator. No delivery company wanted to install the new refrigerator because of the copper waterline. Garrett’s plumbing came, assessed and fixed the problem. Now I’m just waiting for delivery of the new refrigerator. Thank you Garrett’s Plumbing. "

"David was prompt; arrived within the hour as promised. Dug up ground over mail water line break. Repaired break and completed job within a few minutes! Even ran a camera line up sewer line and found potential future repair not urgent at the moment. Price was as stated on phone for this repair; not a penny more! Will hire again as other plumbing issues arise."

"I had a different company the first day and they could not find the the water line leak in the yard. Then even tried using compressed gas. Lucky for me the owner of APS, Julian, had called and convinced me they could find it and told me the exact amount the repair would cost, which was a lot less than others quotes. I told the first company I found another and paid them for their 3 hours of service with 3 guys - but only one would work at a time. Texas APS sent out one guy. He actually worked instead of standing around or talking into a cell phone. Julian came by around 12:30 and while we were talking the worker stopped for a break after digging for hours. Julian the boss asked, taking a break, huh? And the guy was like yeh, I'm taking a break because it is a good time to. Julian said "It is?" And the worker said, yeh, I found the leak. I immediately said you're joking, but he showed us. The owner was so happy he took the worker out for lunch. But the Julian was sure all along he would find it. They had a bad experience once working for Julian's brother in law. It took them 5 days of digging to find the leak, but they learned a lot from that experience. I was so happy with their work I will have them out again to install a new drain on our water heater and will hire them when our 17- year old water heater needs replaced."

"Although my malfunctioning pond pump wasnt an emergent issue, nevertheless they arrived within a few hours of my request and very quickly identified the problem and fixed it. I'm very pleased with the service. I asked Alex Castillo, the plumber for his card so I could have it for future plumbing issues."

"I had a major disaster when my dishwasher flooded, causing water damage to my kitchen floor and cabinets. I was so thankful we found JDN Restoration. Their team was super efficient in removing all the water and took extra time to address areas that could potentially mold. The whole process was smooth and worry-free, and they worked with my insurance to make sure the claims process was as easy as possible. This was the first time I’ve ever had to file a home insurance claim and the JDN tech was so patient to explain every step to me. For being in such a stressful situation, they made it easier to get through. I really appreciated their attention to detail throughout the whole project. Not that I was happy our dishwasher flooded, but now our house looks even better than before! I would definitely recommend using JDN Restoration!"

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in San Marcos, TX

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
