"The Risen team did a great job for me installing steel piers to raise my foundation. Kip gave me a great proposal at a competitive price. He explained how the project would be managed. He delivered on everything he promised, and the overall product and job performance exceeded my expectations across the board. No surprises, no gotchas. David and his crew (Anthony, Larry, Jose, Glenn, Demarcus, Markos, Israel, and Bryan) completed the job in 1 day. They were professional, respectful, responsive, and efficient. I also observed how they bagged the soil as they excavated, then later backfilled with the soil from the bags, leaving the job site very clean with little impact to the yard. The Risen team delivered a product and service I feel good about and I now have a confidence in the integrity of my home foundation that I did not have before. Risen Foundation Solutions was a good choice - they gave me the best solution at the best price, without breaking the bank."

"Long review ahead! For those who don't want to read it, I recommend Royal Foundation! For those looking into more about this process, please read on. So let me begin by saying that we had five foundation repair quotes before finally moving forward with Royal to correct the slab foundation on our 1960's home. Our home is in an area known for bad, clay soil. It expands when it rains and contracts when it's hot. Eric, with Royal, was the only consultant to come out, work within a budget, possibly addressing addition fixes in the future *if needed*. Eric came out three times over the course of two weeks. He did not use scare tactics like many of the other companies did. He did not bad mouth the other companies and many of the other consultants did. Instead, he was patient and understanding and answered any questions we had. He walked us through the project and what to expect. Once we signed the contract, the crew started only a few days later. This was such a relief for me because I was already panicking that our home was going to fall into an abyss. It wasn't that bad, of course, but Eric was quick to reassure us that it would be fine. We actually ended up adding three more piers than Eric originally suggested because we were able to afford them (this was due to Eric working with us on the price). And during the process, an extra pier was added free of charge because of a miscommunication. The installers found an additional pier was needed on an odd corner after they started digging. Rather than go to the trouble of removing the pier, Eric told them to add the 11th pier free. The crew that came out was very polite. They dig holes around the base of the home with a shovel, installed the steel piers under the edge of the foundation and covered them with concrete caps. They added metal shims between the concrete caps and foundation to fine tune the levelling process. One crew member came inside on the final day, taking elevation measurements as they added the shim"

"We had a great experience with this foundation company. They raised our house and did an excellent job from start to finish. He was respectful, honest, and always on time. The work was done quickly, and I never once felt like I was being ripped off, which really gave us peace of mind. They also went above and beyond by cleaning up after themselves and replanting the plants they had to remove. Everything was left neat and taken care of. I highly recommend them to anyone needing foundation work."

"G.L. Hunt was very professional, educational, and compassionate. They provided us with 3 different estimates depending if we wanted all concrete or concrete and steal or all steel (good, better and best). They explained everything to us where we could understand. They answered all of our questions and concerns. They did initial measurements for free and did measurements before lifting the house and after. I asked G.L Hunt to redo all measurements after they raised the house so I could see the differences myself, G.L. Hunt Foundation went on and above what we expected. They ensured us everything was okay. G.L. Hunt walked though every area in my home and outside with my husband. They informed us, they will provide us with free soil just in case we get sink holes from where they where digging and refills the holes they dug up. The areas we thought needed to be redone i.e. mortar and chalking touch ups G.L. Hunt came out the net day and redid everything we asked them to redo. The also informed us to call them after 90 days and they will redo measurements again to ensure everything was okay. They advised us to put up glitters around the house and they did checked our plumbing under the house within 30 days to ensure our plumbing was okay after lifting the house. We got 4 estimate and we are very happy we selected G.L. Hunt to Do our foundation work. GL Hunt did an excellent job."

"Physical work at address went very well. Getting paperwork to document the repair is difficult. I requested the measurements before the foundation was lifted and the measurements after the foundation was lifted and stabilized. I still waiting 2 weeks to receive."

"Foundation repair was performed and met expectations. This was 2.5 years ago. Now looking to sell the house. The cost to transfer the warranty is 10% of the amount of the cost of the job. Buyer expects Seller to cover this cost. Called the company twice in the morning with no call back, called in the pm and finally received a return call from ALAN. He asked if I called him without identifying himself or his company. When asked about the transferral fee, I was curtly told it was 10% of the cost of the job. Since we spent almost 15,000, we believed this to be unreasonable (1,500). I called Roy Frazier twice and he refused to call back. No explanations. Might get the work done, however public relations is horrible."

"Crosstown Engineering did a fantastic job. Steve was very professional, informative, arrived on time and did a thorough review. I hired Crosstown because I wanted an independent review from an engineer to see if my foundation required any repairs. Their report indicated that my foundation was performing and no repairs were needed at this time. I am so glad I had this review done rather than reach out to a foundation repair company who would likely have wanted to sell me something regardless of my need for repairs. I highly recommend Crosstown Engineering for a review before hiring any foundation repair company. They will provide a repair plan if you need one, and if you don’t, you will have the peace of mind that your foundation is ok."

FAQs for concrete foundation raise projects in San Antonio, TX

On average, it takes two to seven days to physically raise your house. However, this does not include the preparation work, which is often the most lengthy process. The entire project, including preparation, obtaining permits, disconnecting utilities, and any subsequent landscaping, can take four to eight weeks. This timeline ensures everything is done safely and that your home remains structurally sound.

If proper safety protocols are not followed, raising a house can cause severe damage, as the process involves applying controlled force to the home's structure. The risks involved make it crucial to hire a skilled contractor who uses engineered methods to secure your home and prevent any harm to your household.

If your foundation shows signs of instability after raising your home, you might need to add structural support. A structural engineer can assess your foundation and recommend reinforcements to ensure your house stays stable and safe for the long term. Available support options include installing additional piers or pilings, reinforcing existing footings, or using steel beams to distribute the load more evenly.

You will need a structural engineer to assess your home before you begin. These professionals determine whether your house is suitable for lifting and identify any issues that could compromise its stability. Their expertise ensures that the project is designed correctly and all risks are managed to achieve a successful lift.
