"Very nice workmanship. Communications with the general manager who did the bid process and quarter backed the job were terrible from the beginning. Confusion, lack of response and continued confusion, and ultimately some nastiness by the GM when they weren't finishing the job made it a negative experience. If you're willing to deal with that the work product is pretty good. I went with them because they were the only stone subcontractor I could even get to do a bid. I also asked them for abid to paint the house and they were twice as expensive as the painting sub who ultimately painted my house, more than twice as expensive as the sub I hired to tear down and rebuild a wall, and about 4x expensive as a sub I hired to do some stucco work. So I'm left to wonder whether what I paid for the stone work was equally higher than what I would have paid for the same work by another stone sub."

"I highly recommend Molina's Exteriors. Yesterday they finished repairing my back and side yard retaining wall. At the end of each work day, the crew completely cleaned up, washing off the adjacent areas and leaving my yard as if no work had been done that day. Frank, the owner, Brad, and Mason all contacted us frequently to keep us up-to-date on their progress. They were honest, knowledgeable, and easy to work with."

"orfirio and his crew were so great to work with and were the best price by far, hands down, not even close. They came all the way up to Rancho Bernardo area and worked diligently every day. We had a huge backyard that was basically just untouched and they helped us make our dream backyard a reality. We made more space by the house by putting in a grill area, dining area, and more space around the pool. Then they built some staircases going up the hill where it splits off to an outdoor hangout area as well as a huge fireplace (the right side is a queen size bed size!). They handled all the necessary shrubbery and tree removal, and unfortunately our driveway contract cracked from the cement truck- they didn't hesitate to help fix that up. The craziest part? You always hear horror stories of jobs taking way longer than expected...not Go Green! They actually finished the project on time, and dare I say even slightly earlier! You won't regret going with them, do it now!"

"From 6 offers I received on my roof replacement it was very easy decision to go with Omri and Palm Construction. I already worked with roofing contractors and I can easily say that Palm Construction are the best of all of them. The replacement went great and with no issues, finished a day earlier and quality is superb. I can't recommend enough Omri and Palm Construction! Excellent rating."

"Raul did a great job for us. He took over a bathroom remodel job that had been started by another contractor. We know contractors don't like to do this, but Raul was willing to take on the challenge! He was excellent at communicating with us throughout the project, and kept to the budget. We would definitely recommend him!"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: repair or partially replace projects in San Diego, CA

Stone veneer isn’t a weekend DIY. Even lightweight faux panels are heavy and must be anchored, flashed, and sealed to keep water out. Missteps can lead to cracked stone, leaks, or injuries. A licensed siding contractor arrives with scaffolding, masonry tools, and the know-how to set each piece safely and neatly, giving you a long-lasting, professional finish.

Stone veneer durability is robust when expert installation and proper maintenance are employed. When installed with precision, regularly cleaned, and sealed as required, stone veneer maintains its integrity for 25 to 75 years. Inadequate installation, however, leads to water intrusion and structural issues that compromise its longevity. Consistent upkeep and adherence to quality installation standards ensure decades of reliable performance.

Covering the entire exterior of a home with stone veneer is feasible but comes with a significant cost increase. Full coverage escalates both material and labor expenses due to the additional square footage required. Many homeowners reduce costs by applying stone veneer selectively—such as around entries, foundations, or architectural accents—while still achieving an upscale appearance and enhancing overall curb appeal.

Installing stone veneer over brick or stucco is entirely possible when the underlying surface is stable and properly prepared. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of any loose material to support a secure application. Additionally, any areas of flaking stucco or deteriorated mortar must be patched and allowed to cure fully before a professional applies the new veneer, ensuring lasting durability.

Stone veneer siding offers a substantial cost advantage compared to full-thickness natural stone. It costs 25% of the price of natural stone because it is manufactured from concrete and lightweight aggregates. This method delivers the genuine appearance of stone while featuring a thinner profile that simplifies shipping, accelerates installation, and consistently reduces material expenses.

For a 250 square foot exterior area, stone siding installation costs range from $9,800 to $18,000, while installing stone veneer costs between $5,000 and $6,000. This clear cost breakdown demonstrates the significant savings achieved with stone veneer, which uses a lighter construction method that minimizes both material and labor expenses. Homeowners benefit from these lower costs while still attaining the attractive look of natural stone.
