"I got bids from a *large* number of installers and Red Mountain gave me the best equipment for the price and did a nice job of it despite a few early teething problems that were resolved quickly and competently. But note that the going price in this area for heat pumps is significantly higher than in other areas of the country - regardless of which installer I let bid on my home. In my opinion, given energy price trends, the environmental impact of heating with gas, and having existing solar power on my home, the benefits of a heat pump outweighs the high price in this area, but YMMV. Think thru your position re: BayREN rebates and the recent federal Inflation Reduction Act rebates carefully to make sure you qualify."

"My HVAC unit was 20 years old needed consistent repair, and my ducks where leaking. It was time for a new unit. I also wanted to relocate the condenser to improve my back yard space. I had gotten 4 quotes before someone referred me to http://www.aircmechanical.com/ Vitor was literally the first smart person to offer a quote. He suggested relocating the condenser to a side of the house and changing it to a suitcase type unit. He also came up with the creative solution of adding a 2nt inlet in another part of the house to reduce noise and improve airflow. The other contractors wanted to enlarge and or relocate the existing inlet which would have been an ugly mess. I now have an extremely efficient 2 stage unit installed correctly and he beat the other quotes. Entire product was completed in 2 days. I couldnâ t be happier."

"Elsy ( I believe she was the plumber from your company via Angi) arrived as scheduled, on Saturday, 09/28/2024. She attempted to repair my garbage disposal unit but was unable to do so as the unit's wiring was worn out. I advised the unit is 40 yrs old. She recommended to purchase a new one. We made a trip together to the local Home Depot store and I purchased the same brand s she recommended. She installed it in record time (within the 2.5 hrs) and completed the job. She also cleaned the work space and carried the old one to my recycling bin. Very satisfied with her work. Also, I want to know if I will receive a billing statement for my records? Thank you for your time & assistance."

FAQs for thermostat installation and replacement projects in San Francisco, CA

Smart thermostats may be worth it for many homeowners. They come with various features, including voice control and smartphone apps. Vacation mode can help lower energy usage when you’re out of town for an extended period. Alert warnings let you know about major spikes or drops in temperature. Smartphone apps can track energy usage, and smart thermostats can learn your routine over time to adjust your temperature and reduce wasted energy consumption automatically.

You typically do not need more than one smart thermostat. While it’s common to see multiple mechanical thermostats throughout a large home, multiple smart thermostats may try to override each other. This can lead to problems with the HVAC system. Ensure the unit you buy has the option for dual- or multi-zoned systems to avoid compatibility issues.

Installing a programmable or smart thermostat may save you $180 per year in utility costs. A big part of this comes from a smart thermostat’s ability to learn and adapt to your regular routines. With smartphone apps or web-based interfaces, you also have the option to control your thermostat when you’re not home.
