"I highly recommend Rollinâ Along to resolve issues related to mobility equipment such as chair lifts. David Lincer (the owner) and his assistant Alfredo provided very efficient and courteous service in checking the battery charging circuit and battery replacement. David and Alfredo were very knowledgeable about the unit and brought it back to â as newâ condition within an hour. Very impressive. I am the second owner of an Acorn chairlift. Acorn does not provide service to fix problems for second Acorn owners nor allow sales of parts to second owners or any service personnel other than Acorn. Had I known their restrictive policies beforehand, I would have never bought an Acorn product."

"Tim Blaylock is a gregarious on-the-go person.  He had a helper or helper both times which I view as a safety plus. He was careful with what had to be moved and set blankets on the newly installed carpeting to move boxes and furniture.  Move in and move out each took less than two hours.  I would definitely use him again.

"I bought an Angie's List coupon for 40 hours' work in early fall of 2012. Keith Lester came to look at what I wanted and we discussed the necessity of providing engineering drawings and calculations. He knew a person who could do such work and put me in touch with that person. The engineer/architect seemed slow to respond; I began consulting him by phone and email in November and his part of the work was not complete till late March. By then the money I had set aside for the project had to be used for taxes, and actual construction could not begin till I was back in financial order to go on, May 2013. At least, the new window and a replacement window could be ordered and received while finances re-shaped themselves.  After that the project seemed to go smoothly.
A scaffold was required because stucco had to be removed from eaves to ground so that structural reinforcement could be put in place. A row of roof tiles (concrete slabs) was removed in order to access portions of the roof involved in tie-downs of reinforcement straps. Stucco removal was not nearly as loud a process as I expected, and took place all in one day. An extra layer of plywood was attached to the reinforcement area, and metal straps went on over that. Inspectors from the City were present during these crucial construction steps.
Preparation of the inside of the living room took several days: opening the wall, removing insulation, moving electrical wiring, preparing the studs so that the window size portion could be removed all in one piece and the new window installed in a single day.  New insulation was put in under the window, new playwood, new wallboard and finally paint, plus a window sill that serves both new and old windows (side by side).
Outside, new underlay wire was installed, two coats of stucco covered the reinforced areas and surrounds of the windows, all that was repainted, roof tiles taken off (for reinforcement bands) were replaced, and the windows were cleaned by the construction crew before they took the scaffold down.
Meanwhile, all the guys who worked were pleasant and friendly, and they carefully cleaned up the work area every evening before they left. At the end they helped me move the furniture back in place, too. Thanks, guys!

FAQs for stairlift installation and replacement projects in San Jose, CA

Adding a dumbwaiter to your home can greatly enhance convenience and efficiency. Imagine effortlessly transporting groceries, laundry, or firewood between floors without physical strain. A dumbwaiter eliminates the hassle of carrying heavy items up and down stairs, improving accessibility and streamlining your daily tasks. It's a smart addition that can make your home function more smoothly and safely, especially if you have mobility constraints.

Yes, dumbwaiters are legal in most areas, provided they comply with local building codes and safety regulations. It's important to ensure that any dumbwaiter you install meets current safety standards and has the necessary third-party certifications. Avoid DIY or homemade systems, as these won't pass inspections and can be very dangerous.

Always work with a reputable manufacturer and a professional installer to ensure your dumbwaiter is safe and legal. This way, you can enjoy the convenience it offers without worrying about compliance issues.

The time it takes to install a dumbwaiter can vary depending on the complexity of your project. If you're installing a dumbwaiter into an existing shaft, the process might only take a few hours. However, if you need to construct a new shaft, it could take anywhere from one to seven days. Factors like modifications to walls, rerouting electrical lines, and adjusting plumbing can add to the timeline, especially if your installation spans multiple floors. Working with a professional ensures the installation is done safely and efficiently.
