"I moved into my house in 1995. There was all ready an in-ground (plaster) pool when we moved in. It had been built in 1990 by Sylvan Pools. The pool was beautiful until around 2010. There were a couple of spots at the bottom of the steps where the re-bar was showing through. So, I decided to have it re-plastered in 2012. I thought they did a good job, at first. The last day the worker, who put water into the pool, left a stain. Okay, I put up with that. Soon after, I tried to turn on the pool light & it didn't come on. It was flooded with water. Okay again, since I never use the pool light. But, starting about 3-4 years ago my pool has started to get more & more stains in it. We live in Phoenix Arizona. We don't close our pool & the pump is run everyday. This year we have had a terrible time with algae. While dealing with it I'm finding more & more hairline cracks in the plaster. "The original pool looked great for 20+ years. This one maybe 4 or 5 years. ""ADEQUATE"" seems" "to be the ""norm"" anymore.""

"The provider put in new toilet seats, fixed a sticky bathroom door (shaved it), caulked the garage and bathroom, minor repairs on the front door.  He was efficient and a very nice person.  Would definitely use again.

"Amazing company to work with. Arrived on time and not only did a fantastic job but also pointed out some issue they found and did not pressure me into making a rash decision to complete them immediately. Even answered a few question I had about my pool and a possible future water softener. I would highly recommend this company for any of your plumbing needs. They can do it all."

"They came out drained the pool 1 day and the next day they came out early acid washed the pool and replaced about 20 tiles. My pool has never looked better since I moved in 8 years ago. I use them for my pool service now and they have done a great job over the past few months. They also fixed my fence gate for free they said it was a safety issue and just fixed the latch. they said because the pool tech did it in less than 20 min there was no charge."

"My swimming pool has had a water leak that caused my household to use almost 4 times as much water as usual, for each of the past several months. I had narrowed it down to the water being supplied to the pool causing the excessive water usage, and called American Leak Detection to find the cause. I researched several agencies through the Internet, and decided that the higher price quoted ($465 after the 5% Angie's List coupon, for the pool with built-in spa) was worth the peace of mind of knowing I'd picked arguably the best company around for the job. I had quotes as low as $200, but when they found out a spa could be involved, they said it might run $400, and some said that if the leak turned out to be difficult to locate, they would have to go to a specialist (like American Leak Detection) at that additional cost to me, to pinpoint the leak. Since there is a lot of plumbing that runs under cement topped by Cool Deck, pinpointing the leak could be paramount. So, by paying more, I would have the most expert agency find the leak. I was even happier when told that they also could do repairs, so I wasn't going to have to go to another company who hadn't diagnosed the problem for resolution of the issue.
Rod came out to do the service, and was there right on time as scheduled. He has dozens of years of experience, including years working with swimming pools, and I felt totally confident in his work. He was very professional, explaining everything I asked about, and very personable. My pool was unusual in that it has two sets of pool returns, one set never used in the 9 years since it was built. Rod figured out how the plumbing was run, that the leak was in this unused return line, and plugged the return drains near the bottom of the pool. While he might have pressured me to repair/replace the bad return line, he took the more pragmatic approach to plug the lines and shut the valve that fed this line from the pump. I really appreciated this, since it will have absolutely no negative effect on my pool or how it is filtered, and prevents a huge waste of money that I simply wouldn't have wanted to invest. He allowed me time to test each step in deciding what was necessary (using the bucket test procedure), giving me several days I wanted to make sure the cause(s) were completely pinpointed and were resolved.
Since he found the leak had nothing to do with the spa, and he didn't have to even test the spa lines, my bill was greatly reduced... only $365 was charged with the added repair work included (a diver making another trip to plug the lines). I'm confident that this is no higher and probably much lower than any other agency would have charged.
If I ever have another water leak that needs this service, I won't even pause before calling Bonnie and asking for an appointment with American Leak Detection!"

"I can't speak highly enough of MagCor. George is one of the best contractors I have ever worked with. He was quick to respond, punctual, personable, explained options and pricing very clearly, and more than delivered the final product. George also noticed some effervescence on the stone veneer wall and repaired and sealed it.  i was out of the country when the work was completed. George sent me email updates and followed up with me when I returned to make sure the job was completed to my satisfaction.  I couldn't have been more pleased.

I highly recommend MagCor!! You will not be disappointed. "

"I was searching Home Warranty providers after a bad experience with my 7 year, soon to be terminated "former" Fidelity Home Warranty service provider. Warranty service providers are essential, for they step in and "act" when life deals you an "Oh Crap" situation like your refrigerator suddenly quits. Every high dollar appliance in a home has a life span that will end whether your prepared for it or not. It's a common occurance that leads to unexpected higher debt concerns while you frantically attempt to save your food from going bad. Got a minimum of $1,700 to get a new one? A truck or a really good friend to borrow theirs to pick it up? Plus time to allow it to achieve proper temperature to transfer your temp sensitive food! Well if you haven't experienced this type of event, in your life, you will! I began by doing some easy research online like searching for best Home Warranty providers. I put some inquiries out to prospective providers and as expected, the sales calls began to ring on my phone. They all have why "they" are the best provider - so take notes and compare policies. Ask whether they cover swimming pools, septic systems, roof repairs etc. So my phone rings with an out-of-state area code and it's Zach from Choice Home Warranty. While on the call, this enthusiastic salesman hit all the "trigger" items I was looking for; *Annual Service Price *Price per claim deductable *Response time You know, all the "need to know" info that helps you make an informative decision. I started paying $550/year 7 years ago in 2014 with my old service provider. The per claim fee was $65. Today in 2022, it's $710/year and $85/claim. Was it worth it you ask? If I figure the math, my total cost over 7 years and only 4 claims was $4,450 or $636/year. This cost paid to replace my pools salt cell and chlorine generator ($1,800 in parts alone), 2 separate Air Conditioner repairs which replaced the coil fan motor, a circuit board replacement, system coil cleansing, relays and a capacitor. (No idea of how much my total cost would have been. I paid $65 twice. Nice huh?) 1 roof repair that replaced the "Cricket", which is a 15' roof section elevational change just below the ridge line. It's important to remember that these repairs don't include "hidden costs" which are personnel and service labor rates. Something you will pay for without a Warranty Service. Here's the best part of the call from this AWESOME salesman. He offered me 6 year "fully transferable", rate locked for life" service policy that when divided out by 6 is LESS THAN WHAT I WAS PAYING ANNUALLY, 7 YEARS AGO!!! So, is a Home Warranty plan a safe bet??? I have a 9 word answer for those without a Choice Home Warranty service plan. YOU BET YOUR DRIPPING SWEATY BUTT CRACK IT IS!!! Props to Zach, YOU DA MAN!!! "AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

FAQs for swimming pool or accessories repair or service projects in San Manuel, AZ

A well-maintained, correctly sized pump lasts eight to 12 years. Help it reach the upper end of that range by cleaning the strainer basket, monitoring for unusual sounds, and verifying that the pump’s flow rate matches the filter's specifications. Address leaks or pressure dips quickly—minor fixes now cost far less than a premature replacement later.

Listen for grinding or screeching, watch for breaker trips, and keep an eye on sudden spikes in your electric bill—any one of these signals the pump needs attention. If repairs continue to accumulate or the unit is older than eight years, replacement often makes more financial sense. Contact a qualified pool repair professional immediately to diagnose the issue and prevent further damage to the filter or plumbing.

It’s best to keep your pool pump on while swimming. Keeping the pump on while you swim allows the filter and skimmers to catch debris in real-time, maintaining water features flowing. It’s not mandatory, but weaving swim time into your regular eight-to-12-hour schedule helps maintain crystal-clear water and consistent chemical levels without extra effort.

Start by shutting off the power at the breaker and verifying with a voltage meter. Close the water valves, bleed pressure, and unbolt the old pump. Wire the new unit according to the manufacturer's diagram, glue in the PVC unions, prime the housing, and tighten everything securely. Open the valves, flip the breaker, and watch for steady water flow and quiet operation. If any step feels beyond your expertise, consider hiring a licensed electrician or pool technician.
