"After a tenant told me she suspects mold, I got nervous and began the mold inspection process. I got a quote from another company for 10k. I reached out to PuroClean for a bid, sharing the original companyâ s report. Nick called telling me it doesnâ t look like I have mold, based on the report, but he would come out to look. He came out and said that I didnâ t have microbial growth but recommended some actions to ensure no mold in future. He is honest, respectful and does business the right way."

"I was glad with how fast, friendly, easy it went for me to turn it in and get results quickly. They helped with my Angie's discount so it was good to know i got the best price (less than I imagined) to have this done. The possibility of having mold in a house is stressful enough... glad to have this go smoothly."

"Inspector showed up right on time and began his inspection. He brought air sampling devices, infrared camera, etc. to do a quite comprehensive home and mold inspection. He checked all items of concern regarding the plumbing, electrical, air conditioning unit, etc. I was extremely impressed by the scope of the inspection and knowledge of the inspector. I chose them because the have all the legitimate certifications. They where there for over two hours and the report I received shortly thereafter was very informative and helpful. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a home or mold inspection."

"Excellent company! Very easy going in scheduling and doing the job AS SUPPOSED TO BE! They recommended a company for the drywall after the asbestos were removed. However, we said we will shop around. They were fine with the idea. We did go with the company that they recommended, though Synergy workers were punctual, professional, and on task. They have a supervisor who came twice to check on the work performed and the person who verified that no asbestos was present before we would come into the house. We did not do the whole house; definitely we will contract them when we need to do the rest. Everything as should be!"

"I suspected the presence of mold in our first floor due to an allergic reaction and a previous leak in the area.  John Riera and his son came, took moisture readings and air samples.  In addition, John was able to troubleshoot and provide other possible causes/solutions to the allergies.  He produced a detailed report with good advice.  The service is pricier than other mold inspection companies, but I like that there is no potential conflict as he does not do remediation, and that his expertise extends to other chemical contaminants."

"I would give this company a high score for response as they came to the house within a couple hours of our call. But not so high on protecting carpeting as they worked. They should have used a heavier plastic drop cloth as the one they used shredded as they worked resulting in spotted carpet & flooring. Also the house sub area had to be dried out with fans going 24-7. Unfortunately the first week the fans were in place they were not located correctly to do the job. A second week of additional fans & repositioning was necessary before our plumber could go under the house to remove the old sewer line and replace it with PVC. I'm really undecided on whether I would hire again."

FAQs for toxicity and mold removal projects in San Rafael, CA

Remediation should keep mold from returning as long as the moisture source is eliminated. Fix leaks, control humidity, and replace water-damaged materials, then schedule periodic inspections to stay ahead of new growth. With those safeguards, your home can stay mold-free for the long haul while protecting both health and property value.

Most pros recommend leaving the home while they work on mold remediation. Removing mold stirs up airborne spores that can aggravate respiratory issues, and contractors can work more efficiently in an empty space. A short, temporary relocation keeps everyone in your family safe and lets the crew finish the job without interruption.

Mold shouldn’t return once the moisture problem is fixed. Stay vigilant: repair leaks right away, keep humidity below 50 percent with a dehumidifier placed in damp areas, and improve ventilation where needed. Routine checks for leaks and mold and quick repairs go a long way toward keeping your home mold-free.

Mold spores can trigger nasal congestion, throat irritation, coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, or skin rashes. People with asthma, allergies, or weakened immune systems often feel the effects sooner and more intensely. Some molds also release mycotoxins linked to serious respiratory or neurological issues. Swift remediation and better ventilation are the best defenses.
