"Owner Mike was great from the first phonecall. I chose him based on his 'A' rating and good reviews on Angies List. He came out and did initial measurements, made recommendations and provided estimates for Amerimax and Milgard windows.  I did not obtain any other bids as I felt his was fair based on research done on the internet, and based on an' estimate' given to me by a contractor years back who did other work on the house. <br /> I went with the Amerimax vinyl double paned windows. Mike took care of obtaining the city permit and advised me of the inspection process.The windows and door were ordered and arrived in about 3 weeks. Work then started within a few days and was completed in three full days by Mike's crew of 3 who were awesome.  They were professional, courteous, on time and were able to work around the excessive amount of furniture and 'stuff' all around the house. They took care to move or asked us to move some fragile keepsakes out of the way.  They also made sure to clean up any dirt and debris throughout the process. <br /> Mike has been in the business many years and is very knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend him.  He and his crew provided experienced, quality, detailed workmanship.  My mother is very happy with her new windows and sliding door.  The house is now warmer, quieter and more secure.  <br /> <br /> <br />"

"My wife and I decided to fix the siding, soffit, windows and gutters of our home before our first child was born. Honestly, my wife and i knew nothing about sidings, window brands or contracting before this. So we took our time and did our research. We got contacted multiple recommended contractors from on Angie's List. GVD responded immediately and we setup an appointment with Andy. Andy was helpful in answering our many questions. During the whole decision process, Andy stayed in contact constantly, answering alot more questions we had about their process, pricing and products. In the end we chose GVD as they surprising price matched one of the other bids we got. The project was slated to take around 2-3 weeks starting in beginning of July which was perfect timing as our baby was due around 7 weeks from the time they were to start. Alex and his team were very professional and made sure to wear face masks when inside the house and clean up the site at the end of the day. Special thanks to Vitale(?) who helped complete a lot of the tiny details my wife pointed out. Unfortunately, the wrong sized sliding door was ordered and the Alside factory at the time was operating at 60% due to COVID-19 so it would take a couple weeks for a new slider to be made. This pushed the project to be completed after our son was born. The one negative from our experience was the Alside products. Although all windows and sliding doors were installed professionally, we had issues with the product themselves. We choose to do a black exterior and white interior for the window finish. Unfortunately we did not know that you could see the black exterior from the inside, which looks somewhat odd to us. The black finish was also not done very well as it overlapped in some of the white finish (I was able to clean this off myself with some work). Another thing was the Alside Mezzo windows had issues with the seals that held the window panes in place. The seals were not entirely cut to size and alot of them were cut short and were loose because of it. The sliding door screen also has an issue locking when trying to close. I am not sure if this is just the quality of the Alside product (we were debating about buying Anderson 100s but were convinced otherwise by Andy) or if the COVID-19 situation reduced the quality of the product by Alside at the factory level. Either way, this was not Vlad and his team's fault and they did their best in trying to resolve some of these issues. Overall, the siding, soffit and gutters were installed professionally and look great! If we had to do it again, we would probably choose a different Alside product or different brand (Anderson) for the windows and sliding door replacement. "Great! Installation team was courteous, very knowledgeable, and professional. These guys really know their stuff and spoke so highly of their company. We replaced 11 windows, they worked with our HOA and were very happy. Only negative is one of the windows should have been a double slider (XOX) but wasn’t, but no big deal. Salesperson didn’t indicate it on the paperwork and I didn’t catch it. Installer was willing to make it right and order another window. Excellent service."

"To be honest, I can't say enough good things about the process of ordering through The Screen Shop. <br /> From the time I entered their showroom, they were friendly and helped me to select the best product for my needs. They have incredible knowledge of the products they sell and can guide you to exactly what you need. There was no attempt to upsell and in some cases they even talked me out of extras that I really didn't need. They are also flexible in fine-tuning the order to any changes in the types of window you need or specialty glass. And if there are any issues with the order or the install they work directly with the manufacturer to make sure these issues are addressed. <br /> The contractor they work with for the install also does an excellent job. They left a clean job site every day and made sure that the house was secure before wrapping up for the day. From the window installation to the work on the trim to the matching of the existing stucco, I can't say enough about the job they did. <br />"

One of the latches on the new window was not working right and they contacted the window manufacturer who then made an appointment with us to replace it with another one. They also cleaned up really well after they were done, and they provided an excellent warranty for the future should we have any problems. They were also our cheapest bid."
