"Jerry (H&H Develoment) and his installer (Mike) did a GREAT JOB. I got several bids on this job and H&H was a) the most responsive, b) extremely punctual, c) curteous and friendly, d) knowledgable, d) the lowest price and e) the shades are most excellent (top down/bottom up). While the other suppliers seemed qualified, H&H's price was about 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the competitors and their lead time (2 weeks vs. 4 - 8 weeks) were also a marked advantage. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."

"The whole job was Exceptional from Scot Stavert who precisely and accurately measured all the windows and trim to Luis H. and Porfirio A. who meticulously installed everything. All the exterior wood trim was replaced and none of the stucco was disturbed. I've been a Licensed Contractor for 35 years and consequently have worked with or employed many people. I would recommend AVW to anyone without the least hesitation! From start to finish everyone was Professional, courteous and caring. Their attention to detail exceeded my expectations. They truly are the #1 Window Company in my opinion."

"To be honest, I can't say enough good things about the process of ordering through The Screen Shop. <br /> From the time I entered their showroom, they were friendly and helped me to select the best product for my needs. They have incredible knowledge of the products they sell and can guide you to exactly what you need. There was no attempt to upsell and in some cases they even talked me out of extras that I really didn't need. They are also flexible in fine-tuning the order to any changes in the types of window you need or specialty glass. And if there are any issues with the order or the install they work directly with the manufacturer to make sure these issues are addressed. <br /> The contractor they work with for the install also does an excellent job. They left a clean job site every day and made sure that the house was secure before wrapping up for the day. From the window installation to the work on the trim to the matching of the existing stucco, I can't say enough about the job they did. <br />"

"Excellent experience with this company. They lent us a portable air conditioner while we waited for our new air conditioner to be installed. They helped us with financing the new system. All the service employees were helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They even came out to help us after the office was closed. I fully recommend their company."

"Requested a quote for window cleaning and gave the following details: all windows consist of either 4, 6 or 8 panes. The total number of panes is 256. The square footage of the home is approx. 3600 and is single story. The quote given by Andy was $90/man hour, which included the cleaning of the interior and exterior, screens and tracks. He estimated the job to take 3 hours with 2 men, or $540. He also let me know that they bill by the quarter hour.  I let him know that we only needed the exterior to be cleaned so it should take less than the estimated 3 hours. He agreed. <br /> ItOn the day of the job 2 window cleaners arrived about 15-20 minutes late, which was not critical as I planned to work from home that day. They began at 8:30a and worked until 10:30a. When I opened the front door to receive the invoice I noticed the stone porch had several areas of dirty water from cleaning the adjacent windows, which had dried, and left stains.  I asked one of the workers if they could clean the areas. In the meantime they gave me the invoice which totaled $360. It made sense based on the $90/man hour, and there being 2 men. However...based on the estimate of $560 for 3 hours, based on the specific details of the home given, and the fact that only the exterior portion of the windows were cleaned and not the interiors/tracks or screens (which seem would take the majority of the time), it didn't make sense. When I mentioned this to the worker who handed me the invoice he just said that it was 2 guys for 2 hours, so $360. It's for this reason, and the lack of clean up (see photos) after they were politely asked if they could clean the area, for the ratings given.  <br /> file:///var/folders/r1/13jcpnfs13z7c5qlp0cffrcm0000gn/T/com.apple.iChat/Messages/Transfers/IMG_8687.jpeg <br /> file:///var/folders/r1/13jcpnfs13z7c5qlp0cffrcm0000gn/T/com.apple.iChat/Messages/Transfers/IMG_9824.jpeg <br />"

"The sales person got pushy and began to tell me all the reasons why going with someone who both installs and sells windows is a bad idea. I was planning to ask for a referral for a good interior/exterior door installer but had to cut off the conversation with a "Thanks anyway" before I got the chance. <br />"

"We just had 3 Generations install siding and windows on our home in El Dorado Hills. We are thrilled with the final product! We literally have people ringing our bell asking about the company and product. Jeremy was professional throughout the entire process, always available for questions, and helped with all the decision making and planning that goes into a project like this. I was very impressed with Vadim, and the crew... hardest working bunch of guys I've seen in a while. They got the job done right the first time. I've worked with contractors that will take shortcuts, and try and hide issues hoping you wont find out until they're long gone. Vadim and his crew are the exact opposite! They would communicate immediately any issues, and painstakingly deliberate over the possible solutions... making the final product that much better. We highly recommend 3 Generations for siding and windows! P.S. If you can do the Soffit... go for it... we love it :)"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Scotts Valley, CA

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
