"I was glad with how fast, friendly, easy it went for me to turn it in and get results quickly. They helped with my Angie's discount so it was good to know i got the best price (less than I imagined) to have this done. The possibility of having mold in a house is stressful enough... glad to have this go smoothly."

"The report was very professional and detailed. The response was fast. The price was expensive but due to the detail, understandable. I wouldn't hire again due to multiple requests for a completed report and estimate for the mold remediation and just getting robotic replies that didn't answer my questions."

"I'm an out-of-town owner of a single family home investment property in New Castle, DE. For years the house suffered from water penetrating the basement. My current tenants, rightfully so, complained about the water leaking into the basement.......so it was time for me to finally get the issue resolved. I researched service providers & came across Basement Pros through Angie's list. I called to schedule an estimate, then drove into town on the scheduled day & met Todd (Operations Director) at the property. Todd did a thorough assessment of the site and provided a straightforward explanation of their solution, and provided me with an estimate on the spot. I ended up going with the Basement Pros proposal: Install sub-floor drainage system, install sump pump, install window wells & drains. Todd advised me this would be a 2-day job, & also let me know what I needed to have my tenants (family of 5) do to prepare for the work. The adult heads-of-household use a portion of the basement as their bedroom, & the basement also contains a bathroom, laundry/HVAC area, & multiple storage areas. I did my best to prepare my tenants for what I described as "significant work", but in the end they believe I somehow failed them. Here's what is most important.........Basement Pros completed the job in 2 days, just as they said they would. All work was performed as expected. In my mind, everything went as planned. However, as my tenant described it, "the aftermath of the job was not pretty." Since I do live out of town, I did not see the end result firsthand, but some of the things being said by my tenant lead me to believe they were being......shall I say......a bit dramatic. ONE WEEK AFTER THE JOB WAS COMPLETED, MY TENANTS STILL CLAIMED THEIR LIVES WERE IN TURMOIL BECAUSE OF THE WORK DONE. I just could not relate, sorry. Unfortunately, communication between my tenants & myself really went south, & the relationship quickly soured. So, what was supposed to be a very positive event (getting a dry basement), was now an extremely negative event. And to be clear, NOT because of anything done by Basement Pros. A week after the work was completed, I ended up contacting Basement Pros again & shared my tenants' concerns with Todd. Almost immediately, I was contacted by the company's owner, Mike Ward, who assured me he would contact my tenants to review/address their concerns. The next day, Mike & Todd returned to the property & met with my tenant. These guys addressed any remaining concerns & went "above & beyond" to satisfy my tenant. Knowingly jumping into the middle of drama between a property owner & tenant is not easy, nor appealing. Basement Pros handled it all with professionalism & class. They are top notch! I highly recommend Basement Pros."

"I used and recommend Allstate American Waterproofing. They were fabulous. I was pleased with their professionalism, responsive, and knowledgable they were. When Bob came out to do the assessment, he knew exactly what he was doing. I was very happy with their services and I will use them again. He also gave us a discount."

"15 years ago, I had another basement waterproofing company, with a local office, work on another area of our residence. When I attempted to contact them to work on this area or tie it into the current setup, I found out that are no longer in business due to Covid 19 issues. The other branch offices would not accept the job since they operate independently and said it would be best to replace the whole system. Kiss that lifetime warranty goodbye. Did not want to replace the whole system. We contacted Basement Waterproofing Specialists thru Angie's list. Thier representative, Dean S., came out the next day, listened to us and not pressure us for a decision. The crew a couple days later, arrived on time (8AM), Worksite preparation & the job began immediately thereafter. The crew of 4 worked like a well oiled machine. They knew what and when actions needed to be completed and they did it efficiently. They cleaned up after they were finished & showed/tested us how the pump should work when the reservoir fills up. By 2:30 PM they were done."

"It’s not often that a reviewer praises a contractor for what he DIDN’T do. Austin Ireland, the owner and operator of Drytek, didn’t propose spending several thousand dollars on encapsulating my wet crawl space. He said that in my case encapsulation might not be cost effective. You see, my 50 year-old home’s foundation consists of 8”x 8” wood posts, with the foundation’s perimeter enclosed by 1”x 6” boards, slatted to allow for ventilation. The layout of my irregular crawl space posed other installation problems as well. Among other things, insulation panels would need to be installed to form walls in addition to the vapor barrier and a large dehumidifier. Four contractors/salespersons preceded Drytek’s Austin Ireland. One simply said there’s nothing that can be done. Another proposed encapsulating the crawl space from the OUTSIDE, but thankfully never followed up. Another did an evaluation, but never returned my calls. Dryzone wanted $8,500 but offered a pressure tactic $425 discount if I signed a vague contract the same day the salesman came. Later the salesperson said the installation of insulation boards would raise the cost significantly. The salesperson at Dryzone also said he would call back with details, but didn’t. Drytek’s Austin Ireland, on the other hand, took more time than any of the others to carefully examine my crawl space. I crawled with him as he pointed out the condition of my crawl space and the challenges of encapsulation. By this time, my own research had better prepared me to better evaluate proposals. I found him to be knowledgeable, straightforward and honest. I was a highly motivated prospective customer. Last year a HVAC system had been installed with the air handler, electronics, and ductwork in my crawl space. The moisture in the crawl space last summer was degrading the new system. So what did Austin Ireland of Drytek propose? Four centrifugal snail fans joined together by extension cords, placed strategically in the crawl space. These are not exhaust fans to ventilate, but rather air movers like you may have seen in public bathrooms to dry floors. He even showed me what to do, and wouldn’t take any payment for his visit. After investing $400 the next day at Home Depot , I located the fans, connected the extension cords to the receptacles in the fans and waited for the heat and humidity to test Austin Ireland’s theory. It is now six weeks later and we have had three prolonged periods of hot, humid weather during which I have activated the fans. THE CRAWL SPACE HAS STAYED AS DRY AS A BONE. Amazing! The vast majority of wet crawl spaces need to be encapsulated; mine did not. But it took a trustworthy expert whose ethics mattered more than profit to present the best solution for me. Austin Ireland, owner and operator of Drytek, is that person."

FAQs for toxicity and mold removal projects in Seaford, DE

Remediation should keep mold from returning as long as the moisture source is eliminated. Fix leaks, control humidity, and replace water-damaged materials, then schedule periodic inspections to stay ahead of new growth. With those safeguards, your home can stay mold-free for the long haul while protecting both health and property value.

Most pros recommend leaving the home while they work on mold remediation. Removing mold stirs up airborne spores that can aggravate respiratory issues, and contractors can work more efficiently in an empty space. A short, temporary relocation keeps everyone in your family safe and lets the crew finish the job without interruption.

Mold shouldn’t return once the moisture problem is fixed. Stay vigilant: repair leaks right away, keep humidity below 50 percent with a dehumidifier placed in damp areas, and improve ventilation where needed. Routine checks for leaks and mold and quick repairs go a long way toward keeping your home mold-free.

Mold spores can trigger nasal congestion, throat irritation, coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, or skin rashes. People with asthma, allergies, or weakened immune systems often feel the effects sooner and more intensely. Some molds also release mycotoxins linked to serious respiratory or neurological issues. Swift remediation and better ventilation are the best defenses.
