"If I could leave less than 1 star I would. Blue Flame markets themselves as a wholesome, family owned business, when in reality they're owned by American Residential Services (ARS), which is owned by the private equity company GI Partners. In the process of installing an AC unit, the technicians did not lay down a covering on our carpet, and got black grease all over it, which we still cannot get out. Then when they needed to install the thermostat, they punched numerous incorrect holes in our wallpapered walls. The whole hallway needed to be re-wall papered, and we cannot buy the type of wallpaper anymore. Mind you, this was in July, its now January and we're trying to have Blue Flame cover the costs, and they keep passing us off to a new person in the company. This is a typical private equity company move, where they hope you'll get frustrated and give up. We're now dealing with their insurance, who is lowballing us, and gave a burnt offering to repair one hole. Do not use them!"

"We had Evergreen Home Heating and Energy install a new water heater and furnace, and unfortunately, the quality of their work has been disappointing. Recently, I noticed several issues with the intake and exhaust pipes. Several hanger straps attached to the wall are broken, and one of the joints on the water heater exhaust pipe is leaking water. I suspect this leak is caused by the imbalance due to the broken hanger straps. I expected a professional and reliable installation from Evergreen Home Heating and Energy, but these problems indicate a lack of attention to detail and quality. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Evergreen Home Heating and Energy. If you’re considering them for your home needs, be cautious and perhaps look elsewhere."

"My furnace broke down on a very cold day, causing my family to suffer. Dave arrived promptly on time after I contacted him and exhibited a high level of professionalism. Dave displayed impressive knowledge and skill throughout the repair process. My furnace problem was quickly diagnosed and Dave explained it to me in plain and understandable terms. I appreciated his transparency and honesty in discussing the necessary repairs and associated costs. I would recommend Dave's services to anyone who needs repair or upgrades to their HVAC system. Dave, thank you again for saving my family from a cold winter!"

"I won't call any other heating or AC experts ever again. Twice now, I've had incomparable experiences. I had another highly reputed company come diagnose my failed furnace and provide an estimate, but AirPros' price for the same part and repair was much more reasonable and furnace repairs are not cheap, so the difference mattered significantly. AirPros also treated me like family. Go with this family business, you will be happy."

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Seattle, WA

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
