"Predatory Sales and Subpar Quality Mad City's process is predatory from start to finish. Three hours of high-pressure sales tactics in my own home, even after I repeatedly stated I needed to discuss it with my husband. After the installation the field manager acknowledging the wave and gaps in the wall, he told me that while it didn't meet my expectations, it met their "standard of error." Let that sink in: Mad City Bath?s official policy is that crooked and wavy is good enough. If you value your money, or want a shower that is actually square and plumb, stay far away from this company. They perform subpar work, hide behind automated phone lines when things go wrong, and will abandon you the moment they have your money. Hire a reputable contractor instead."

Welcome to Dugan's Paint and Flooring Centers. We proudly operate 4 beautiful stores in Sedalia, Warrensburg, Osage Beach and Laurie, Missouri. With a 140 year history of helping individuals, families and companies decorating their homes and businesses, Dugan's is your source for paint, tile, window coverings and flooring, including carpet, hardwood, ceramic, stone, vinyl and laminate.\n\nDugan’s Paint and Flooring Center offers a full range of products from Benjamin Moore, Pittsburgh Paints, Shaw, Armstrong, Coronado, Bruce and many others. You’ll find our sales professionals eager to assist you with the design process and help you determine the best products to fit your style and budget. Our goal is to make your home decorating or remodeling experience exciting and stress-free. Come see us today or call for more information.\n\nBackground:\nThe Dugan Paint company was started in 1871 by Ernest Dugan and is currently in the fifth family generation of management. The company was first started as a paint and glass store as many similar businesses of its type were back then. In January of 1980 the glass and paint store split off into two separate companies and the paint company started its growth. In 1983 the second store was opened in Laurie, Missouri to service the Lake of the Ozarks area. At that time the area was experiencing tremendous growth and we soon saw that we could not provide the complete service to both sides of the lake from one location. In 1992 the third store was opened in Osage Beach, Missouri to serve what we called the east side of the Lake of the Ozarks.\n\nAs business continued to grow in the Sedalia area, a need for a larger main facility was evident. In January of 1997 we completed our relocation from our 4,000 square foot location on west 16th street to our new 10,000 square foot location at 3103 Erika avenue. Also, that same month, January 1997, we took over the operations of the Zeke's Paint and Design center in Warrensburg, Missouri giving us our fourth store location. With the addition of the Warrensburg location we are able to circle our main store and warehouse with satellite locations making shipments efficient and timely. In January of 2000, our new facility in Warrensburg was completed and we moved from the downtown district to 709 East Hale Lake Road. In December of 2000, a 2000 square foot addition was completed at the Sedalia warehouse. As the Lake of the Ozarks area continued to grow, a need for additional warehouse and showroom space was needed so a new store location was created in Laurie at 120 Dogwood Lane and it was moved in February of 2003. Three new warehouses have been built or purchased since 2004 giving Dugan's Paint and Flooring Centers the ability to service our customers better than any other paint and flooring store in central Missouri.

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in Sedalia, MO

Replacing your tub with a shower can modernize your bathroom and improve accessibility, often providing a high return on investment. However, if it's the only bathtub in your home, removing it may decrease resale value, as many buyers look for at least one bathtub. Consider your long-term plans and consult a real estate professional if resale value is a concern.

While showers cost slightly more to install than tubs, the overall expense depends on various factors such as materials, size, and features. A tub installation costs $2,400 to $8,800 on average, whereas showers average $2,000 to $9,400. Custom designs, luxury fixtures, or extensive plumbing work can increase costs for both options. It's important to assess your specific needs and budget when deciding between installing a shower or a tub.

Converting a tub to a shower generally takes between one and three days. The timeline depends on the complexity of the project, materials chosen, and whether plumbing modifications are necessary. Installing a standard prefabricated shower can be completed quickly, while custom tile work or extensive plumbing changes may extend the project's duration. Planning accordingly can help minimize disruptions during the conversion.

Converting a tub to a shower offers several benefits, including saving space and making your bathroom feel more open and modern. Showers improve accessibility, especially for those with mobility challenges, by eliminating the need to step over a high tub wall. Additionally, updating to a stylish shower can enhance your bathroom's aesthetic appeal and may increase your home's resale value if another tub is available elsewhere in the house.

Choosing between a shower stall and a custom shower depends on your budget and preferences. Prefabricated stalls are less expensive and faster to install but offer limited styles. Custom showers allow personalization of size, materials, and features but cost more and require professional installation. Evaluate your needs and budget to select the best option for your space.

If you’re converting a tub to a shower, you may want to consider remodeling your whole bathroom. The ROI on bathroom remodels is high (over 70%), so you can enjoy an upgraded bathroom while you live in your home and get your money back if you decide to sell later. The average cost to remodel a bathroom is around $6,600 to $16,600, so factor in this price range when you’re budgeting for your project.

Converting a tub to a shower alone isn't easy to DIY, so look for a bathroom remodeler near you if you decide to take on a larger bathroom remodel to ensure it's done correctly.
