He is an expert on everything to do with plumbing & a great guy too. My water heater is 23 years old, so I decided to replace that as well. "The service I received was exemplary other than a delay imposed by the Labor Day holiday weekend. I had detected a potential leak in the water line to the house after noticing a portion of my lawn was saturated. I called the leak in on Thursday morning before the Labor Day weekend, and Mathew Thatcher arrived within two hours. He cut off the water and spent the next few hours tracing water and sewage lines into the house and detecting the probable source of the leak. He went out of his way to minimize the potential cost of this tracing operation. In addition he performed a number of minor interior repairs that I had delayed performing. These included replacement of a rusting garbage disposal and repair of a recently developed toilet leak. My only possible caveat was the fact that the full repair could not be done until the following Tuesday. However, we got by turning the main water line on and off (using a key loaned to us by Mr. Thatcher) when water was needed. The leak was repaired on Tuesday after ripping up a small portion of the driveway and replacing a cracked plastic connector (undoubtedly an earlier repair to the line done many years ago) with copper piping, installing a sewer line clean out and water line cut off inside the house and repairing the driveway. I would like to particularly single out Mr. Thatcher for his helpfulness, complete explanations of potential problems and options at each step of the way, and focus on finding the least expensive method of completing an inevitably costly repair."
