"It was easy. No one came to my house. I answered their questions. Those answers provided them with what they needed to send me a DIY system to arm my home. Everything was explained and all seemed simple until I got the kit. Nothing was wrong with the kit, however, I was nervous that I would not line up door and window sensors correctly. Afterwards, I could not figure out why I was so hesitant and nervous. I have tripped the alarmed, was quickly contacted and false alarm cancelled."

"I called to inquire about service and prices, and they were surprisingly pushy with offers to get me to sign up right away. I succumbed only because everything was refundable. I found the phone service to be impersonal, and I wasn't sure I trusted them. However, I called another time to ask a few more questions, and the next thing you know they were adding more free equipment to my order. This was all very good, because by the time the rep came to install, I had started to figure out what equipment I really needed (I got some advice from a neighbor police officer), and was able to swap out what I didn't need for what I did need, and in the end it cost me nothing for a very nice setup.  However, be aware these folks are trying to sell every step of the way, including the installers. So, know what you want and stand your ground. My install was $99, but offset by a promotional Visa gift card of the same amount with a few hoops to jump through to get it. (Wait for form, mail in with $5 handling charge, wait for gift card to come back in the mail. ) The installer was professional and able to provide us some advice as to the placement of devices. However, again, make sure you do your own homework. He did know the equipment well and was able to answer every question we had about the each item.  After installation, I tested the motion detectors and thought they were not working as I expected them to. I called and got some very patient tech assistance by phone. Then in the end needed to have someone come back. The same installer individual came back, and it turned out to be a matter of placing one of them differently, which was done free of charge as expected.  In the end, everything was performed as promised. There was a small error in billing of the monthly service later, but that too was easily addressed after I called. The monthly service fee is the standard price that ADT charges depending which service and equipment you get. Ours is in the mid $30 range.  The monthly fee is controlled by ADT and the same no matter who installs your system. The installation and equipment cost varies by provider.  | |I don't know how Protect Your Home makes its money, since I paid nothing for all the equipment and installation. They are a big, nationwide organization, so for sure they must get other people to spend more freely. Though I felt distrustful of them initially, they've done everything as promised/expected. They just don't make me feel warm and fuzzy."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Acuity was prompt and responsive. They did everything they said they would in the timeframe that they promised. The information I received was extensive, but had only a few more details than I already had after doing internet searches on my own. If you are not comfortable with searching for information online, or just don't have the time to do it, I would definitely use their services. I believe if I were to hire them again to go a step further, they would do a great job."

"This discount seems like a good deal, but it really isn't. this $29.99 procures such minimal service that it is quite meaningless. Once you contact Dish (which you must) you realize you could have done just as well or better just going directly to their website. Satellite Country really provides very little in terms of service or discount. I found it to be a bit of a run around. This was supposed to offer a $25 visa card so it seems your initial cost will be minimal. However, the retailer insists you mail them a form (that you must wait for them to send you) and you must send them a processing fee to obtain the card you were promised. To add insult to injury you must provide it by postal money order (which of course is not free) so your $25 is reduced to $22.05 before you ever see it. I found this tedious to say the least (which I am sure works to their advantage) and many months later the envelope is still sitting on my desk waiting for me to make time to buy the money order.  I will be more careful of coupons offered in the future.
