He noted a small leak on the water heater, and after we discussed the age of the water heater, I had him replace the hot water heater and an older valve on the water meter. He completed everything in a shorter time than I expected. Before he left, showed me the controls on the new water heater and how to re-light the pilot if it ever went out. After he replaced the damaged pipes, the area where the pipes were was simplified, neater, and easier to access than it had been before. Although I did not plan on having all this work done now, I was confident in his assessment (he had done a previous big plumbing job for me) and I am sure this preventive maintenance headed off a future problem."

"I had an old water heater (was in the house when I moved in about 20 years ago) and it started to leak. After shutting off the water to the water heater, I did a little Angie's List research to find a company to do the replacement. I called a couple and decided to use Randy Lane, based on cost and my interaction with them, which I felt was cordial and helpful, and made an appointment.
The service person arrived on time on the day of the appointment and went to work. He disconnected the old heater and hauled it out. The new heater was brought in and he did the needed plumbing work to connect the water and also made the natural gas connections. He fired up the unit and briefed me on the new unit - how to turn-off the water and gas, if needed, temperature, etc.
The area was left in the same condition as when he arrived.
