"I recently had comfort home services clean the air ducts in my home, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, their team was professional, punctual, and courteous. They explained the process clearly, worked efficiently, and treated my home with care. They cleaned up all the dust and trash. The difference in air quality was noticeable right away, and I truly appreciate their attention to detail. I would highly recommend CHS to anyone in need of reliable and thorough HVAC services."

"Doug is excellent to work with. He brought my vision for the fireplace/living room remodel to life through his expert carpentry and design consultation. Great communication throughout the life of the project and he kept an excellent eye on the budget, even suggesting some changes with materials and other items that would save money without impacting the look and quality."

"Mark came out to our home and walked through what would need to be done, even though his company couldn't provide the specific excavation needed for the repairs.  He also took his time and looked at other areas of the home and addressed my concerns regarding settling, cracks, etc.  He never tried to sell me something I didn't need, and even advised me not to listen to other companies if they added on additional repairs beyond the problem we are having.  He was professional, courteous and very helpful in our decision making process on the next step to repair our home's foundation problems.  I will call them in the future if we ever have different types of repairs that need done! <br />"

"Mr. Barrett was sensational. My home is 35 years old, and the faucet handle was so badly corroded that it was difficult even to turn off the water. In spite of the corrosion and difficulty in removing the old fixture and installing the new one, Mr. Barrett never lost his patience and continued to work on the fixture at a time when most plumbers probably would have given up and tried to sell me lots of expensive new piping. I used Handyman Barrett for the first time just one week ago for an entirely different project, and I will certainly call him again for any home projects."

"Two weeks after closing on our house, we engaged Johnson County Siding and Windows to replace all of our windows (13 windows) with custom windows, install a new entry door, installed two new storm doors, and later added a custom full-glass deck entry door. When we went looking for a contractor (using Angie's List), we were looking for quality, service and price - in that order. Johnson County Siding and Windows delivered superb excellence and value in all three of those areas. Our experience working with Donny - our site foreman - was overwhelmingly positive. We had some unique requirements for our windows and glass entry doors (hurricane/entry-proof laminated glass) that required special ordering and specifications, and Donny was very patient with us as we worked through the details. Everything was double and triple-checked to make sure we had the right specs and measurements. It took less than a month for our windows to be made and delivered, and the install crew was on-site the next business day after delivery. I can't say enough good things about the crew that installed our windows. A full tear-out install entails ripping out the old windows and frames down to the studs, repairing any issues found, and then installing all new frames and windows. Our house is over 35 years old, and they found a number of issues (wood rot, etc.) when they tore out the old windows and frames. Everything was repaired using new wood, and always with an eye for quality first. I was impressed at the lengths they went to make sure everything was done right - for example they built an entire new kitchen windowsill to fix water damage in that area. All of the new windows were taped, caulked and foamed to insure a super-tight seal. I really have to mention two of the guys - Randy and John - who did our trim and door installs. They always took a "quality-first" approach to everything, and the results are just amazing. Our new deck door (very solid and heavy due to the laminated hurricane glass) closes smoothly like a bank vault, and is so tightly sealed you can't hear a loud radio playing on the deck just on the other side of the door. Bottom line - we couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out, and will definitely be using Johnson County Siding and Windows for any new projects in the future. These guys are true quality craftsmen, and it definitely shows in finished product."

"Kenny explained the process thoroughly. Workers were on time and worked quickly and relatively quietly - which was important to me because I work from home. Installed light fixtures as well as replaced the roof and gutters. Did a great job working around some not so good weather. Good cleanup."

"Everything went great. When we went to the showroom Karyn did a great job at answering all of our questions and concerns and helped us pick out the flooring. Bill came out a couple days later to measure and we received a quote in the mail a couple days after that. The installation was scheduled for a couple weeks later and everyone arrived that morning as scheduled. They did it all - removed baseboards, the appliances, and the toilet. After the floor was laid they installed new baseboards, hooked up all of the appliances, and re-installed the toilet complete with a new seal. They even replaced a baseboard in our master bath. The workers were all gentlemen and professionals. You could tell they knew exactly what they were doing. If I had to make a negative comment it would be that I could have used a heads-up on the dust that the installation would make so I could have covered some things to make the clean-up easier. But overall we are extremely happy with the results."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Smithville, MO

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
