"Gerry did an amazing job with helping me and my family rebuild our home after a loss due to a fire. Both Gerry and Seltsers & Goldstein Public Adjusters Very responsive and communicative. Gerry went above and beyond to make sure everything was up to standard and done correctly. I really appreciated the constant communication so I was never left in the dark. Because there was a time restraint there were minor details that were a little off but nothing major that we couldnâ t fix. Gerry actually did more than he needed to but it was very tremendously appreciated. He even followed up and made sure everything was how we wanted it. Gerry and his team made our home feel like home again after a tragedy and I do recommend using his services. Attached are some before and afters of the kitchen and bedroom that were both destroyed in the fire and the amazing job Gerry and his team did! They also fixed the outside panel (imagine not shown) and it looks like nothing ever happened. Thank you again Gerry!"

"Thanks to Peter Larkin and All Out Deleading, I was finally able to close out a long, frustrating saga of getting my lead-paint-covered, dilapidated windows replaced, along with some general deleading. Just to summarize, the work was done quickly and professionally and the windows themselves are of high quality, efficient, (Mercury Excelum EOS+) and look good, too! Peter was very responsive and communicated well throughout the process, and never fed me even an ounce of BS. You might have to remember to call him sometimes, but he's always there when you do. I thought the price was very reasonable for the scope of work (about $17k for 25 double glazed windows plus assorted exterior lead abatement, clean up etc) and was definitely lower than some others I found. If you're going crazy figuring out how to navigate Mass lead laws while also getting some actually good windows out of the process, just call Peter and he'll take care of you. Anyway, read on for the saga, if you're interested. I started the process of finding someone to replace my lead-paint-covered windows last September, and let me tell you I have learned a lot more about state lead remediation requirements than I had ever imagined I would. Let me just caution anyone in the same situation that there are two licenses/certifications that a contractor can have, a "lead safe" and an "authorized deleader," and for windows you need the latter if you want to end up with a certificate of deleading. Anyway, after drudging through the state's PDF list of contractors I ended up contacting one lead remediation firm, who strung me along for a few weeks before ghosting me by November. Then I found someone else, got a quote, took measurements, was all set before discovering they didn't have the "authorized deleader" certification, which would have prevented me from getting a certificate of deleading upon subsequent inspection. So I couldn't use them. Finally I called Peter in late February to come by and take a look by early March, which he did. Then Covid-19 happened and the world fell apart just a bit. Long story short, between waiting out the surge here in Mass and general pandemic related delays, we were back on track in the summer for taking measurements and able to order the windows. In the meantime, a crew was sent over to do some of the exterior work like wrapping the sills in aluminum. Peter's crew started the installation process literally the day after the windows arrived, which was the first week of November (storing them in my garage overnight). Be aware that you'll need to be out of the house for the duration of the work. Window delivery was a Thursday, they started work Friday, by Monday the lead inspector was back in, on Tuesday the results were back from the lab, and on Wednesday we were home. I will say that the floors were cleaner then we left them, and the windows looked great. Throughout this process, Peter either picked up the phone every time I called him, or called me back right after. He was always straight and open with me regarding when things were possible, the reason for any delays, and what potential pitfalls were. He was also extremely knowledgeable about government deleading requirements and could walk me through the details, which believe me, is something you want. And in the end when it came time to pay the final installment, there were no surprises. So if you want to save yourself a big confusing hassle and solve your lead paint problem, call Peter Larkin and let him take care of it."

"This is the first time I used Affordable Chimney Sweep and I was so impressed. During a storm, my chimney cap fell off. The office staff was efficient and so easy to deal with when I called. The work was completed today (around my schedule!) and I could not be happier. The repair technicians were friendly and professional. They actually called their boss to see if they could charge me less than my original quote as the job was not as difficult as expected. What great customer service! Will definitely be calling them again in the future and will recommend to everyone I know. Thank you for a job well done!"

"Wes visited a half-done job in two bathrooms in my house. He kindly accepted to finish the work with quality materials. He is very knowledgeable about the process and the materials. While he is not charging the cheapest in town, but I am sure down the road it worth is. You don’t retile your floor every year. You need a quality work to last for years to come. He also helped me with fixing 2 lose steps in my front yard with a magic glue. He is serious, hardworking, clean and professional. He didn’t leave any trash or dust on site. Definitely hire again."

"The 2 men that were sent to perform the service were friendly and professional.  They were on time and I received a reminder phone call the day before.  However, the wait time for an open appointment was about 3 months. I called in October and they scheduled me for January, but I was in no rush so I scheduled.  I opted to have the additional service of cleaning and tuning up my furnace motor, which seemed to be in rough shape (result of not changing filter often enough), and applying the disinfectant solution and spray since the additional cost for these services seemed fair.  (My ducts were not cleaned for over 10 years and I saw for myself the condition of the motor.)  I in no way felt pressured or like I was getting a "hard sell". <br /> I purchased the $88 deal on Angie's List, which I admit makes the total cost seem like a huge mark up.  However, after subtracting the additional work I had performed, the total cost was in line or a bit lower than other quotes I received or found online for duct and dryer vent cleaning.  I also noted the writing on the deal that stated there would be an additional cost for more than one main line and return (I have 2 main lines and 4 returns), so I was not shocked by the price. I think disclosing an approximate price for these additional parts would satisfy a lot of the complaints I have read. <br /> One problem I had was with the dryer vent cleaning.  After the service was performed, I noticed my clothes were still wet after going through the dryer.  I took the line apart myself and pulled out handfuls of lint.  I called to report this because I was afraid of the fire hazard and just wanted some assurance that the other work was not faulty.  The response I got from the receptionist was not great. I was offered a refund for dryer vent cleaning (~$30) or for someone to come back, but no apology or desire to make sure the other work was done right.  Luckily, the owner was in the office.  He got on the phone and was excellent.  He promised to come by the next day (a Saturday) and check all work.  He arrived as promised, inspected and took pictures of the air ducts and gave the dryer vent a second look (apparently I did not remove all the lint when I took it apart, so he made sure it was done right).  Honestly, he saved this review.  I would use this company again because I know if a mistake is made, they will make it right (despite some of the bumps mentioned). <br />"

"I called Tom when our upstairs toilet overflowed & leaked through the ceiling & a light fixture. Tom responded promptly, gave me tips for what to do in the interim, and came out on a Sunday for an initial estimate. I was very ready to hear that we’d need to rip out the ceiling, and I really appreciated Tom’s honesty in telling me he didn’t think we’d need to cut away the ceiling. He could easily have gotten himself a bigger job, but had the integrity to tell us we didn’t need to take the pricier route. I would 100% recommend Tom, and though I hope we don’t have reason to need these services again; if we do I will definitely call Northeast Water Remediation. I can’t speak to the quality of work, other than his initial assessment (which was efficient & thorough), but his integrity speaks highly of his work ethic, and I’d trust him to do any work we needed done. Also his quote for a bit of patching & re-painting down the line was very reasonable."

"Working with Paul was terrific. We contacted him believing we had an emergency during a flooding rainstorm. Fortunately we were able to stem the waters ourselves, but Paul still talked us through our situation and gave us advice. He even took the time the next day to visit the house to assess the damage (fortunately there was none) and offer us suggestions for what we can do if our basement were to flood again. Paul could not have been more professional, and I recommend him enthusiastically. <br />"
