"Solaris did a great job helping us determine which type of window film would work best for our needs and where it would benefit having the film applied (we have actually had them apply film to windows in two of our homes). Their responsiveness- from initial contact to receiving a quote to installation was excellent. Our main concern was to prevent fading of furniture and flooring, and we're extremely happy with the results."

"Professional job, on time and kept the work site very clean. The installer was very experienced and was able to handle a challenging job of installing 2 new windows in an older home without a problem. Impressed with the service and the communication was outstanding, They aren't happy with the job until you are happy with the job.  Honest and dependable. Would recommend this company for your window and door projects. <br />"

"Beautifully! Friendly, knowledgeable team. Everything looks great and operates as expected! You would not know any work was done, even though 3-14 inch holes were cut in the roof and ceiling. It has been a pleasure working with Tom, Dawn and Jeff. We have already shown several of our neighbors the quality of the work, and we expect Exterior Arts to be VERY busy installing Sun Tunnels in our neighborhood! JWD!"

"If you're looking for a contractor that stands behind the quality of their work you might want to rethink hiring Dreamscapes Home Improvements. Dreamscapes charged me $800 for a new chimney flashing when they installed my new roof in August of 2015. In October of 2018, the first time I had been in my attic since the installation of my new roof, I noticed that the roof had been leaking for some time on the north side of my chimney as the plywood was heavily stained in the area of the leak. I believe a new roof should remain leak free for longer than 3 years so I called Joel at Dreamscapes. He came out and made a cursory inspection of the chimney, but didn't find an obvious cause of leak. He said he would come back the following Friday with his son to do a more extensive search for the cause of the leak and make a correction to a section of the flashing was that was sagging in the center. Like I said that was in October of 2018, this is August of 2019. I haven't heard from anyone at Dreamscapes since that day and they haven't responded to any of my communications. I believe that I have since found the cause of the leak myself. Things seem to be staying dry at least for now. The problem I found I was where the mason that had previously rebuilt my chimney left a dime sized void that should have been filled with mortar allowing rain to get behind the bricks. I would have been willing to pay Dreamscapes for finding and making that repair since it had nothing to do with the work they had done, but they completely blew me off. The point I'm trying to make is; if you're looking for a contractor who will stand behind his work and make a warrantee repair for you when things go wrong, this isn't the guy you want."

"To begin, the wait for an appointment to install was tooooo long (village permit expired before install). The communications could have been better. The install crew was quick and professional, however after a very long wait for the installation, all of the materials were not provided as well as a damaged window (cracked screen) was installed. Follow-up emails were sent to find out an anticipated date to fix the damaged window and provide the missing screens. The referral segment needs attentions: 1. referred my mom after I paid a deposit and signed a contract for services, but her windows (she had more) were installed before mine. As to date, I've still never received anything for her referral. 2. I referred my neighbor C Lacey, she received 1 call, and have not spoken to anyone else. 3. My mom's neighbor received a quote, and asked me for a number to provide a call for approval to purchase. I'm very pleased with my windows, but the overall (start to finish) needs serious tweaking, with customer service being the #1 priority."

"I called to find out what could be done about some loose siding panels on my house. Someone came within the week. He didn't have the correct hooks to fasten the aluminum siding pieces with him but said he would return. A few days later he came back and finished the repairs. I feel I was treated with the same attention and promptness as if I were a client with a large, lucrative project even though I am sure he didn't make much money on my little repair. <br />"

"I hired Mr. Handyman Services to come install a new exterior door in my garage. The installer showed up on time, was friendly and knowledgeable, and very professional with the install. Fast forward a couple of months where I needed a wood parquet floor repaired in my house. I was excited to see the same installer show up! And once again he did a wonderful job repairing my floor."

FAQs for new windows service projects in South Bend, IN

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
