"9/16/16 Signed contract to replace a bow window with 3 double-hung windows. 9/26/16 Technician takes inside/outside measurements. 11/9/16 Installers arrive. Job not completed due to defective/missing components. Installer and I reviewed work completed, I signed Zero Defect Form with installer notes, paid balance due, holding back 10% for work not completed. 11/10/16 Call from Rich Cavanaugh, CRM. I am disappointed project not completed. He said I would hear from Service in about 2 weeks. 12/1/2016 I called Service, left message, no call back. 12/2/2016 I called Service. Told me I should get a call next week to schedule. 1/3/17 I called Service and was told everything in. Will call back with date. 1/4/17 Call from Service with date. 1/16/17 Service tech arrives without all components to complete job. After a couple of phone calls and much discussion he goes to local lumber yard and buys what he needs to complete exterior work and installs it. Interior work must be delayed until a window sash is ordered. 1/16/17 I call Rich. I am disgusted. Why was I told all components were in? 1/17/17 Call from Rich. Window sash has been ordered. I will get a call from service when it is in. 1/20/17 Call from Service. Sash will be in on 2/3/17. Completion date set. 2/8/17 service tech arrives to install sash and replace damaged interior molding. All work completed, but just as tech is leaving the glass in the newly-installed window sash cracks. A new sash will need to be ordered. And so the saga continues. My comment is this: The windows are well-made, energy-efficient, and beautiful. The installers and service technicians are professional, skilled craftsmen and do excellent work. Service administration and scheduling is inefficient and unacceptable. Installation of 3 windows should not take three months! On a positive note, the 10% I held back was waived as compensation for my inconvenience. Not holding my breath for the new sash."

"I put in a request to replace my mailbox. I was quoted a price of $ 450. Prior to agreeing to pay for the job, I asked the business to give me a breakdown of what I would be paying for the work (I.e. replace the post, pick up materials, disposal of old mailbox, etc.) I did not receive a response after that. I make it a practice not to pay anyone until I see a breakdown of what I’m paying for. While I cannot accuse him of doing so, I did not want a situation in which someone would go out, pick out a mailbox for me, take off the old one, put the new one on the old post and leaving me to deal with the disposal of the old one for $450. Just didn’t work out for me with this contractor."

"Lou and his crew were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They removed and replaced an old deck with composite material and new decorative skirting and stairs. We couldn’t be happier with the finished deck and would absolutely recommend Perfectview Remodeling."

"Andy picked up right away when I called to ask if he could take a look at my roof which had developed a tiny leak the night before. He said he could come out the very same day. When he arrived a few hours later he told me the roof was in good shape and should last another 7 years or so (the roof is 20 years old). The leak was being caused by a pipe boot which had deteriorated. He told me he'd get back to me later in the day with an estimate to replace the boots as well as to clean moss which had grown in a few areas. He ended up calling back a few hours later to say he could come out and replace the boots in an hour (he could schedule the roof cleaning within the next few weeks). So by the end of the day on the day I called he made the repair. He carefully explained what had to be done and how to do it properly and thought to use extra shingles I had stored in the basement. He was extremely nice, courteous, prompt and professional. He provided top notch service. I would use them again in a heartbeat. <br />"

"This was the first outfit that I was entirely pleased with. Randall was very knowledgeable about the products he works with and was able to match the windows on our old farmhouse.  The price was right.  I was apprehensive about the installation on this funky old building but they came with the A team crew and changed them all up in two days.  I was amazed.  They came steadily and stayed completely on our job, working long days to finish forthwithly. I look forward to working with Window Works again in the future.  Straight up solid work for a good price. <br />"

"Loved these guys!!! The owner Mark Jodoin walked me through the process from beginning to end. Told me the order date, permits that needed to be pulled and time frame of arrival and had the install planned around my schedule for my convience. Mark made sure I was informed about exactly what I was getting and the work it entailed. Everything went right as he had scheduled it and they did a fantastic job with the install. They put up vinyl wrapping on the outside of the trim which gave it a great finish. I have brand new hardwood floors in my house and Mark and his guys wore shoe covers to make sure not to scuff or damage anything and they were very clean throughout the wwhole process. Any time I had a question or just wanted to confirm something, I was able to call Mark directly. I have had terrible luck in the past with other companies on such large projects but I will definitely be going through them again. We have already been in talks about replacing all my windows! Highly recommended!!! <br />"

"When I called Patrick Kubala Home Improvement for an estimate, Mr. Kubala returned my phone call in a timely manner. He came out the next day at 9:00 am and was prompt. He listened to what type of door I wanted and showed me all of my options. I selected a door and screen. The price was reasonable. The day of installation, his staff arrived at scheduled time and did an excellent job and also did a great job with cleaning up. I will definitely use them again for future projects."

"High quality product <br /> Polite and efficient installer <br /> Mistake ordering interior molding that delayed project completion <br /> Inadvertent damage to interior that was not the "responsibility" of Pella that required additional work whose cost was covered by further discount by Pella.   <br /> Also, there's a "ding" on one of the inside window frames - a blemish on the finish that apparently occurred during installation. <br /> This was not my understanding or expectation going into the project. <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Southwick, MA

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
