"We have an old brick house in southwest Reno that we are upgrading. Six years ago we added six new windows and now we are finishing the remainder of the house. We got bids from three window contractors including the one we used for the first six windows. Cand G had the lowest estimate by far and the bid included an invitation to visit their showroom—something the other two contractors didn't even offer. The bid of our former window contractor was twice as much as Cand G's! <br /> Cand G was great to work with from start to finish. We worked with Gary during the estimating and ordering process and he was knowledgeable, businesslike and very personable. The windows were ordered and arrived in exactly the time as was promised. We scheduled the installation for the day after the windows arrived; Chris and his helper, Scott, arrived promptly at eight and put in a hard day installing six of the windows. They returned promptly the next morning to finish the job. The work was done quickly and efficiently; it is obvious that Chris is an experienced professional—he was great to work with. My contractor was onsite during the whole installation process and he said they did an excellent job. <br /> This was a great experience, the price was excellent and the installation outstanding. We would highly recommend Cand G Doors and Windows and would definitely use them again. <br />"

"We recently built a new house south of Carson City and used Carson Valley Glass for all our interior glass – both the materials and the installation. Our project included multiple bathroom mirrors (both rectangular and oval shapes), shower enclosures (frameless glass in both ½ inch and 3/8 inch thickness), and glass fronted kitchen cabinets. We’ve also used Carson Valley Glass for small projects – last year we broke one window at a small cottage. Carson Valley Glass supplied us with glass in exactly the right size to repair the window ourselves – and for a much better price than others quoted. We highly recommend Carson Valley Glass for projects both large and small."

"We talked to the Lowe's folks at a home show and gave them our info. Shortly thereafter, we got a call to set up for and estimate. The estimator was on time and great to work with. I was surprised at the low pricing. Lowe's called almost immediately to set up installation. The installer was on time and got the job done very quickly. The next day we got a follow up call from Lowe's to make sure everything was ok. I was very pleasant ly surprised with the whole experience. <br />"

"I called for estimate. I received the estimate timely. I agreed to pay the estimated price. We agreed on the date and time. The repair person was a little late - he was supposed to come between 1 and 2 P.M. I called them at about 2 P.M. and was told that he was running a little bit late. Repair person came at around 1:20 P.M. He was very professional. Did a great job and the price was the same as the estimate. I am very pleased with the experience. I will recommend them to anybody who needs glass repair and I will use them again if another glass window is broken. <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Sparks, NV

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
