"Perfect. No other words needed. On time. Polite. Professional. Worked like dogs all day. Knew exactly what they were getting themselves and how to get it done. I will definitely hire them again for my next project."

"As a young professional, Craig understands that doing exceptional work for his clients represents who he is. Craig was tasked with planting fruit trees and beautiful plants in my backyard many years ago. Craig put a lot of planning before embarking on the project. He was punctual and worked on the project with enthusiasm and creativity. After many years, I am still enjoying crops from my pear tree. The blackberries are my grandchildren’s favorite. Each year in early spring I send a picture of the pear tree to Craig to show him the beauty of the tree while it blossoms. I highly recommend Craig to you and assure you that you will be pleased with the outcome."

"Greg was a lifesaver. I decided to move from New Jersey to Kentucky and it was overwhelming. Greg took charge. I needed some items to be disposed of from a storage unit. He came one evening and took care of that. Then he came back and loaded up that storage unit and my upstairs apartment, all by himself, during the process he communicated everything, was efficient and very professional. He drove my belongings to Kentucky and unloaded them all. My next plan is to build a house here and I’m 100% highing Greg to do the job. He’s highly skilled in all areas of renovations and construction, I’ve seen his work, he truly cares and is an expert in all areas and he goes above to make sure that you feel comfortable in all steps of the way. Thank you so much Greg!"

"My basement has remained untouched from the previous homeowners. Outside of coming down to do laundry (which I dreaded because of the condition of the basement) this area has been a throw away space. The bathroom, although functional was pretty nasty so it has never been used since we purchased the house two years ago. I figured it was time to make use of this wasted space and do a complete overhaul. Having had a great experience with Roman, Ivan and the team the first time I used them, I decided to give them the job. As with the first job, they came to walk the space and we discussed the details of what I was looking for, what was possible, timing, etc. After about a day or two, I received an email with the official quote that itemized the cost of each portion of the project (labor and materials). I thought the quote was fair and we agreed on a date to start the project. Like the professionals these guys are they showed up bright and early on the agreed day and every working day thereafter. The entire project included gutting the entire space with drywall, frames, flooring, tile, shower, toilet, etc. etc., re-framing and installing all new insulation, drywall, re-routing and installing electrical, building a new wall around the existing cast iron stair case with under stair storage, cutting and removing cast iron stair spindles and railings, closing space under stair treads (these guys are magicians), installing new fire proof drywall in mechanical/laundry area, completely new bathroom installation (shower, toilet, tiling new window, access panels for water shutoffs), new flooring, painting, recessed light installation, running wires for speaker system in ceiling, installing down-firing ceiling speakers, repairing outside breach in stucco, waterproofing gaps in basement entry and above grade. I'm sure I'm missing something, but you get the idea... For the sake of keeping this review under a novel I'll try my best to summarize the entire experience. Working with these guys it feels very much like a partnership. You can tell they care very much about the quality of their work and they will stay as long as they have to to get the job done right. Unlike some of my experience with other contractors who will patch things up to get the job done, or close walls around areas they know will present a long or short term problem; these guys don't work that way. I feel a lot of trust that they will always do what's in my best interest. They bring my attention to anything they foresee as a problem, even if it doesn't directly concern them. As an example, when demo-ing the bathroom they realized the sewer line for the original toilet was set too high, so they removed all the concrete and realized the workers who built the bathroom didn't want to touch the sewer line from the kitchen seeing it was probably on it's last leg, so they left it and decided to just install a new line over that one. These guys knew I probably had a very short amount of time left in those pipes, so they replace the entire section of that line (for no additional fee). This was a project that spanned a few weeks, so it's not easy to summarize the highlights, but all in all I'm very very satisfied with the result of the project. Everyone who has seen the finished product is very impressed and requesting their contact information for their projects. I've already let them know they have another large renovation project coming from me in the near future. The project went over what I initially wanted to spend when I first decided to do this, but it was well worth it."

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Staten Island, NY

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
