Joe also installed our septic system . All aspects of our job was done very professionally. We would definitely recommend Joe Pita for all your excavation needs. "Hired ?A Real Plumber? through Angie?s List to unclog kitchen sink and main sewer line. They arrived on time and did a thorough job. They were courteous and professional and cleaned up afterward.
I hired them again to install a sump pump. Again they were on time and very professional and courteous. They did the job in a timely manner and cleaned up afterward.

"Never thought I'd be "gushy" over a plumbing service, but It went fantastic. Terry returned my call immediately, and the next day (a Saturday) drove over to my house to take a look at the pipes. Terry returned Monday morning to do the repair. Extremely pleasant. Very neat with his work, and he took the initiative to install an access panel door where he had to cut the back of my cabinet so that the resulting look is professional). His price was quite fair and matched what he had estimated when he came to the house on Saturday (I was prepared to hear much worse news--its an older house and sometimes you don't know what you are getting into until you open up a wall further.). Not only did he take care of my pipe so I can use my kitchen again, but he snaked my tub drain and checked out two other plumbing problems I asked him to look at while he was here. From his responses to my questions, I felt in great hands -- that he was not going to charge me for work that didn't need to be done, and that the work he did would be done right. I know who I will call in the future for any plumbing problem, and I highly recommend his services."

"I would highly recommend this small business to anyone. We had an emergency backup/clog that caused our plumbing to be unusable. Found this business using Angie's List. Within minutes I was contacted and they were able to come within the hour, traveling 20+ miles. Justin was courteous and thorough. He made sure the main was unclogged and that all avenues of water travel were flowing smoothly. He also gave us some suggestions and things to look for. Great service! Great people! Prompt, thorough, courteous. Reasonable rates! Would definitely call again if we need plumbing/drain service."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Stillwater, NY

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
