"Do not use Precision Contracting for anything other than a competitive bid. I was lured in by their pricing and regret my decision. I will list some of the low lights below. Siding 1) Took months before the job started and couldn't provide an ETA until a few days before. 2) First day of the siding job they showed up to replace my windows. 3) Second day of the siding job they asked me if they were taking down the previous siding. 4) Upon complaining we were told that inside work was this PMs specialty, this becomes relevant later. 5) Only ever saw the owner when it was time to collect money. 6) It took weeks to close out the siding job, and the way we found out they considered the job complete was receipt of final invoice 7) After receiving invoice we let the owner know we would happily pay once the PM addressed the punch list he had for weeks. 8) They eventually finished the punch list to our liking and we paid promptly Pull and Replace Master Bath 1) Gave us 1 day notice that the job was going to start 2) It took 16 weeks from demo to completion for a simple pull and replace 3) Almost no communication from PM regarding our concerns and growing list of things we wanted fixed 4) Some of the items were attempted 3 times to be remedied and failed 5) We received an invoice for the final payment, again out of nowhere 6) We paid nearly all of it immediately except $800 with a list of items that were unsatisfactory and that we just wanted to cut ties 7) Rather than address us from a customer service perspective the owner threatened us with a lien on our home 8) We eventually settled on roughly $300 being refunded to avoid the lien There is easily 1K of work left to do on the bathroom, but I'm willing to pay $700 for this nightmare to be over. In the end their work quality is pretty good, they lack follow through, communication and customer service. The items left over are basic things that should be able to be fixed, but I don't want Precision Contracting in my life any more. Feel free to message me if you are interested in more details. I'm only writing this because of the threats at the end, we could have parted ways with that $800 relatively satisfied. The law suit threat was ridiculous and unprofessional. So again, use Precision Contracting for competitive bidding but don't be lured in like we were."

"Just wrapped up a pool deck and pool resurfacing project with Ross Services. I’ve managed my fair share of much larger commercial construction projects so I’m well aware of the quality and performance spectrum one might encounter with any contractor. I can honestly say that I don’t remember a project that went this smoothly. Joel was a pleasure to deal with, his crew knew the assignment and executed well, and they were all responsive when I had questions or suggestions about the project. I don’t expect any issues now that the project is done but if something did come up,I am very confident that Joel will make it right. A great experience overall and would definitely hire them again."

"This stamped concrete company, Concrete Art and Decor, was absolutely amazing! The owners, brothers Jesus and Manuel, were attentive, responsive, respectful, and eager to do their work to my complete satisfaction. Their crew of talented “artists” who prepped, poured, and painted the concrete design (sometimes on their hands and knees) did not miss one detail! They even returned to clean any remaining dust from grinding, make sure drains were draining, and to do any touch up necessary. My patio is gorgeous and was admired by all of my guests over the Holidays! I have been a home owner for 40 years and have never encountered such a competent contractor whose goal was for me to be thrilled with their work, which I was! ! And on top of it, Concrete Art and Decor’s company prices are competitive. Do not confuse them with other companies out there (and I’ve had a few). They are the best! Thank you again, gentlemen, for making my pool deck so beautiful! I look forward to doing my driveway next!"

"This man is the worst contractor I've ever hired. The project took over a year to complete and not once did Robert take any responsibility for his poor workmanship. He first of all took 3 months to start the project which is against the law in Florida. He also did not get the required permit as required by law in Florida. I had told him I wanted a permit and he said he was working with an architect to draw up the plans for the permit. He lied and never did so. After the building dept stopped construction I had to pay all the fees because Robert refused to do so despite it being his fault. That started a serious of corrections in order to comply with the inspections and he made me pay for them all. He blamed it on the architect that I had to hire in order to submit the plans to the building dept. Twice Robert would schedule work to be done and both times the day before the work he would hit me up for money saying he needed it to get the job done. That is already having to pay the downpayment and a second installment payment. The money was there but he blew it on unrelated things like his medical treatment he didn't disclose and which causes him to be absent for long periods of time. He also appears to have memory lapses that causes him not to remember things you tell him. His wife handles the communication when he is not on the job. It got to a point where I was telling him what to do on the job. He also hires guys off the street as in my case. He got some **** kind that new a little about masonry and it was horrible. It had to be knocked down and then Robert refused to pay him. The kid came knocking on my door one day threatening me for payment. In Florida, if a contractor doesn't pay, his subcontractors can go after the customer for payment. Need to have contractor sign a waiver so you don't get sued or a lien put on your property. I'm really warning you all. Please stay far away. There are plenty of other reputable contractors out there. Don't risk it."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Stuart, FL

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
