"Our downstairs bedroom and bathroom were freezing cold. A BSI insulation engineer came in to size up the problem and provide a solution. They insulated the basement and crawl space of our 1893 Plantation home and now our said rooms are warm and inviting. We are so grateful to them and will save a ton of money in heating costs in the years to come. So happy and so grateful. What a great company."

"The crews were extraordinarily polite, friendly, efficient, and very energetic. They ran into a lot of underground water when digging the trench for the buckled wall repair, but were able to put in the necessary reinforcements from inside the basement extending out to the trenched area. We live in an area with a lot of underground springs and artesian water, and when they began work the dirt under the foundation and crawl space was just wet mud, and water poured in at 36 inches deep as they created an outlet for the water to be safely drained away from the house. The basement is completely dry and we have a back up sump pump. My basement is surrounded by a crawl space since it was added after the house was built. The sump pumps and dehumidifier are warrantied for 5 years and the waterproofing has a lifetime warranty. Our house had problems because the basement was added after the house was built, but Indiana Foundation was able to make the house safe, and completely dry and usable. Since we live on a hillside, we will be adding a French drain behind the house and garage, far enough away to not further damage any of the foundations, but at the natural flow of the hillside where water collects to run down hill or underground. If we go at least 36 inches deep, it should help reduce some of the water that flows into the house area. This was some advice given by the supervisor at Indiana Foundation. They don't install French drains any longer, as they don't carry away all water and don't carry a guarantee, but in our situation it will probably help and is something I will be contracting out in the near future. The French drain is similar to what farmers install in fields to drain away excess water to a creek or deep ditch. It isn't something we have to do, but it will put a lot less strain on the sump pumps and other equipment, and in case of a long term power outage, would likely save our other appliances too (furnace, water heater, walls, etc.). I love the battery back up pump and it has already been in use twice when we had two separate power outages from storms. The workmen from Indiana Foundation were delightful to have in my home, running in and out with loads of materials, cheerfully hammering the walls and floors to install their system. Second: My electrician was able to repair a line running to our garage after the water problem was resolved. Water poured in over the connections in the basement without our realizing it, and no electricity was live in the back room of the garage. New basement, New Electric, New Plumbing - we are very happy with the results!"

"Very happy with the egress window that was installed in our basement. The company was very attentive to open communication and our needs as customers. The contractors kept me informed and ask for my approval/concerns throughout the project. Work was completed in a timely manner. The work site was kept as neat and organized as possible when digging down several feet into the ground and cutting out a concrete slab from a basement wall. Crossroads Foundation Repair is professional, friendly, and detailed in their work."

"Erie home made waterproofing our crawlspace so easy! We have now endured heavy spring rains and zero water has come in. We can see the sump pump sending water out just like it should! They also added storage space to our house because the encapsulation is so nice and clean! Well worth the money."

"A few weeks ago I had to make a trip to my crawl space, which has been neglected for 41 years – damp, occasional mold and wet clay…and with flashlight in hand I repaired a problem and when I had crawled out, I told myself that I needed to do something. I started shopping for crawlspace renovators and checked out Indiana Crawlspace Repair. Their online photos were what I was looking for, so I called and talked to Erika and decided to get an estimate. They sent out a Sales Rep, Brian Carr, who discussed the services available, then checked out our crawl spaces – we had our original plus an add-on, basically two crawl spaces. By the time we finished, I was looking at some extensive repairs and services, all desperately needed (41 years of neglect). I mulled this over and decided that I needed to have this work done, and scheduled it. On 1 November Terry and his crew of two showed up and by the end of the week, my “crawlspaces” had an inside perimeter drainage system, with two sumps and pumps, a sealed crawlspace (walls and floors), a dehumidifier system, mild mold remediation and a footer dig for the sump pump drains…I had new crawlspaces! I am still shocked every time I enter them – before I felt like “Indiana Jones” entering the Temple of Doom – now I take my shoes off when I go in. There are projects I have put off for years to improve plumbing and wiring, as well as some minor floor joist repairs, that I look forward to doing now. I really feel like my house has been saved. Thanks to all at Indiana Crawl Space Repair for an amazing job! You’re everything you say you are…and more!"

"I had some concerns after the work was finished, and when I attempted to contact a representative from this company, I had to leave several messages before I got a call back -- and that only came after I threatened to take legal action. I have had additional foundation issues since then, but I have done business with another company. I would not work with AccuLevel again simply because it appears that after they have your money, you do not matter. The company I engaged after AccuLevel could teach these guys a thing or three abut customer service."

"Advanced Restoration and Waterproofing was very kind to me when I was looking for information about a potential water issue with a house I was interested in purchasing. Several other companies either did not return my call or told me that they would no t help me unless I had a signed purchase contract. Marty, on the other hand, returned my phone call promptly and was very patient in answering my questions. He even went above and beyond by looking at some pictures I sent him and giving me advice. When I find the right house, I will definitely hire this company to inspect the basement and make any necessary repairs."

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Switz-city, IN

Yes, crawl space encapsulation is a good investment. It improves your home's energy efficiency and air quality, boosting its value. With routine inspections and maintenance, encapsulation provides a long-lasting solution to moisture and pest issues. Regular check-ups protect your investment, enhance energy efficiency, and maintain your home's structural integrity. If your home is prone to pests or moisture seepage, encapsulating your crawl space is definitely worth it.

A vapor barrier is a thin sheet of plastic that prevents moisture from seeping into your crawl space, while insulation prevents unconditioned air from entering. Combining both insulation and a vapor barrier creates a dry, temperature-stable environment. Some insulation products serve both purposes, enhancing energy efficiency and protecting against moisture and temperature fluctuations.
